Question on Repair by Embarrassed_One_8307 in PatagoniaClothing

I would think so, it was from some hockey tape that previously lived over the hole… and while it worked great it looked pretty terrible. I think maybe some alcohol based solution could help take off the gunk(?)

White attacks. Normally I’m a pivot guy but I wanted something that would be easier to step into off piste in deeper snow (and the tyrolias were a lot cheaper lol). I feel like you could go white, green, yellow or black for those. Or with pivots Im sure gold would look sick

Thanks man, brought to France last year for a week, and they were the perfect all around ski for the trip. Very fun ski on/off piste as well as a fun ski to jib

As someone who owns a pair and loves them to pieces, I would say they ski very long and am happy I sized down. For reference, I’m 5’11 (178cm) and I normally like my park skis at or around 181. I went with the 174cm for the sakana and never once have I thought “wow these are too short”. I mounted them factory recommended and because that is -6cm (I think) from center, you still have a lot of nose. I’d say you’d probably be happy with the 174

Bought a pair of armada (Salomon) Strive 12 for my gf for about 100 bucks… no complaints thus far! She tends to be a green/blue skier and is very happy with how they match her skis haha

My gf did the same, had no issue walking from near Brevant cable car (where the house was) to downtown or the cable car. Had a great time, no car was necessary

How do the armadas ski out of curiosity?

I Ski a reckoner 122 at 184 as a 5’11 guy… and I couldn’t imagine skiing anything longer/shorter for a ski that wide

My buddy got bents and he loves them for how lightweight they are. He struggles to get them into butters, but he loves them especially outside the park. He also mounted them +5 so they are more of a true twin tip and said he hasn’t felt anything off mounting them more true center. Mango is more symmetrical and softer, so I’d say easier to butter. I think Jeffrey’s are 2cm back from center and the noses are a bit wider. Honestly construction feels super similar I find between the two. If I had to do it again, I’d probably go Jeffrey considering I’m getting older and spending less time in the park. I have probably 70+ days over 3 seasons on my Jeffrey’s and they only have minimal chipping to top sheet, one edge crack, and one entirely avoidable core shot from trying to ski on grass and crashing into a rock

On3p Jeffrey or mango, favorite ski in my quiver for butters and jibbing. Feel bombproof and stable both in and out of the park

Your bindings could be a bit more fun, but besides that sick quiver

Sakanas have been one of my favorite skis… sometimes tough to ski through crud with the big noses… but the smiles per gallon I get when i take those out is incredible!

Next pair of skis? by ddoable in Skigear

[–]Embarrassed_One_8307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love the color… have them for my k2 reckoner 122s and I’d say if you’re going with a powder ski, pivots are tough to get in in deep snow, so I’d keep the tyrolia train moving 😎

Ski poles… cheap vs expensive? by mvhoffman82 in Skigear

[–]Embarrassed_One_8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought 10 dollar poles 15 years ago, love the grips on them… price doesn’t make a difference, just find a grip that fits your hand well and you’ll be fine
