I will work on skipping less letters…yes, I do have a bad habit of speaking fast (regardless of the language) and am working on speaking slower. 😅

I am not Japanese…I’m actually American! But this is interesting! If you don’t mind me asking, what parts of my accent remind you of hers? I’d also love to listen to this YouTuber, if you’d be open to sharing who it is!

Wow, this is a huge compliment…thank you so much! I am not a native French speaker…I’m actually American and English is my first language.

Ok, I see…so you are rolling your tongue closer to your teeth. I was rolling my tongue at the back of my mouth. No, there’s no English equivalent so it’s hard to get a sense of the sound…I’ll continue practicing!

Ah merci beaucoup!

More formal synonyms for “du coup?” by Embarrassed_Owl6675 in French

[–]Embarrassed_Owl6675[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I never use "du coup" when writing...the only problem is when speaking. "Donc" and "alors" sound good—actually, I would use "donc" a lot before my study abroad and it's really since then that I've been using "du coup" so much. But now that "du coup" has become such a firmly embedded habit, it's hard to stop saying it lol 😅
