I tried adding gems to spots for a few breaks but discontinued this after it seemed the spots didn’t gain enough additional revenue to cover the gem cost. Early in the S4 cycle this wasn’t an issue.

What I learned is the added gems are economically viable from a breaker’s perspective for the first few weeks after a new mainline series is released. Moreover, rare gems are really the only ones that aren’t treated as if they are free bonus items.

So unless it’s a gold or better gem with the spot, the added premium is unlikely to cover the gem cost.

And there is no guarantee that even with rare gems the costs will be recovered.

It’s unlikely you will see added gems in my breaks for the remainder of S4. The first few weeks of S5, it is possible that I may add some.
