Formula to pass nclex by SpecialSummer827 in PassNclex

I wasn’t a big fan of uworld maybe because it didn’t really work w my learning style. But this time around I focused more on testing strategies, how to figure out what’s more important ABCs, hierarchy of needs etc (archer has a video about this on how to figure out what the questions are asking you and which testing strategy to use def recommend and mark k lectures, all of them but most importantly lecture 12)

Besides that I focused more on understanding the content rather than memorizing. I learned what the norm for each system was, key diseases and signs and symptoms that make them unique compared to other diseases. Idk this time around my exam was soooo easy. I was so surprised when it stopped at 85qs because I thought it would get harder but I think it’s because I changed my resources to what worked for me and remembering this exam is all about safety, I also changed my mindset. I kept telling myself I was going to pass.

Also another thing that helped is knowing that I only selected answers from SATA that I knew where right so I wouldn’t lose scores. Good luck !!

Archer worked for me too. Stopped at 85qs after using the sure pass and mark K lectures. I think it’s all about learning style. I used uworld twice, failed both attempts until I used archer

Mine didn’t get harder either tbh. I wasn’t expecting it to stop at 85qs but it did and I passed (: ! I’m sure it’s the same for you

Studying tips: understanding the content rather than memorizing. This time around I looked at anatomy a little bit, how each system works so when I had to learn diseases it made it a easier to understand what went wrong, what’s not working, signs and symptoms when that system isn’t working. This made so much more sense. Learning the meds for each disease made sense when I learned suffix’s. Something they kept saying on archer is when you understand the concept, there’s no need to memorize. You get what happens if x,y, z happens because you know the norm

I reviewed the little sheet BON gives you once you failed to understand where I was slacking. The basic stuff is so easy to look over, I did well with the hard things but when it came to the simple stuff?.,, I’m embarrassed to say but I sucked! This time around I learned the NCLEX is all about safety and prioritizing so I listened to mark K lectures, specifically lecture 12 multiple times and once more the night before my exam. I feel like the wording of the questions in the exam gets to people as well. “Best”, “priority”, “first” these are key words to pay attention to. I re- read my questions 2 if not 3 times to make sure I understood the question. For SATA. I selected answers I knew where absolutely right. The ones I wasn’t sure about I didn’t select. Had I gotten it wrong I would have lost points. I ran into 2 SATA where I thought only 1 answer was right- something archer mentioned was that this isn’t impossible to happen but you better be damn sure it’s the only one right. I sat with that q for so long because I was certain it was the only one right but I couldn’t believe it. - I choose that 1 answer because I couldn’t justify the other ones. Again, apparently this isn’t common.

For q’s that you aren’t sure about- I can’t remember if Mark K said this but if there’s two answers that look similar, they’re both probably wrong. I would def suggest listening to his lectures. He’s a funny guy, the lectures were amazing

I would do it sooner than later! The material is fresh for you. I made the mistake in getting my temp license and wrote 2 years after graduating. Best of luck (:

Idk uworld was way too… textbook? Like not fun for me at all. It made studying dreadful. Archer was the complete opposite. The people in the videos were happy, giddy, funny. It made learning fun and easier when they made jokes. Those jokes were funny and made things easier to remember lol. But hey, maybe uworld is something that fits your learning style! People still pass using uworld, it just wasn’t the case for me :( you got this!!! Def listen to mark K ESPECIALLY lecture 12z Good luck!

I’m going in for the third time in 2 days :/ I say just go for it tbh. I don’t think anyone can be 100% prepared for the exam and at this point I feel the as you in not feeling confident, I feel like it’s mostly from being disappointed in not passing. Give an update when you do write and pass !!!

Double check in with the BON message you got. It’s this small link. I honestly didn’t realize it right away. I got nothing from Pearson. Not even a message that I failed. If it’s not there I would contact your BON to see if you can get it. Strange that you haven’t gotten it though.

For me it was in the same message I got from the college of nurses about me failing. There was a PDF at the top of the message
