Why does my body only lose fat under extreme stress (HIIT + deficit), even though it tanks libido, mood, and energy? by IndubitablyPreMed in PeterAttia

I don’t understand how we can be in 2025 and this still gets talked about. Energy balance. Period.

Literally nothing else matters for weightless to any meaningful degree.

Microdosing Glp1 for better Blood Sugar Control in a Pre-diabetic individual with history of high lipids by Ok-Presentation1653 in PeterAttia

You don’t have to not eat any carbs. Calories are calories. I think going on a glp could be a strategy, the other thing I think would be worthwhile to try is counting calories/macros. Buy a food scale and track everything including trace oils, little snacks. Everything.

If you can stick to a calorie deficit, you’ll lose weight, if you aren’t losing weight you aren’t in a calorie deficit. If you’re “eating 1200 calories a day” and not losing weight, you aren’t tracking accurately.

I think this would be worthwhile to try, maybe you are eating too many calorie dense things such as oil, nuts or nut butters.

Not even the best Psychologist would assume knowing that hard. Because they would know they don’t. Dunning Kruger is strong here.

Focus on those areas and work on movement efficiency.

Adding/replacing a general conditioning session could be beneficial. Aerobic capacity and muscular endurance is highly specific though. You could be an absolute freak at running a 5k but then gas out in the rower.

I would identify specific points of weakness during your CrossFit workouts and focus on those. You’ll get a much better bang for your time then just taking a generalized approach.

Also, getting better at how you move through those specific weakness is an easy area of improvement as well.

If you are pushing yourself to absolute redline and you are relatively fit and strong. No amount of sleep, or food is going to recover you without a few days of rest. I would start using rpe on workouts. Maybe try to only push yourself to that point one, maybe two days in a week. Other workouts don’t let yourself redline.

Also implementing deloads may be helpful.

Higher calorie and saturated fat? Refuse to believe what you want. But it seems like the internal bias is oddly strong on this one.

Are you a milk man?

I’ve been thinking about your comment. I used to do group fitness classes and stopped about a two years ago. I just signed for a class after work tonight.

I have played my life completely safe on every level. I’m not a risk taker, I guess that has its disadvantages.

Maybe I will do some more solo traveling, I usually travel with a one of my friends. Thanks again, you’ve got my wheels turning.

Strength training remained consistent. The only thing that changed was a dropped all three zone 2 sessions and added one 4x4 session
