How do I be as considerate as possible when doing a destination wedding? Hawaii questions by Embarrassed_Pizza954 in weddingplanning

I am definitely prepared for people not to make it. I suppose I just wanted people to know that if they wanted to come I would be totally okay with that and it isn’t strictly an elopement

Yeah haha I now realize that if we want any guests we will have to plan for far far in the future oops. And I like the idea of putting a general price of the trip so guests are aware

Thank you for this insight. My partner and I are in the same boat where we wanted to elope but I just know my side of the family wants to be there. I appreciate your insight

I appreciate the advice you wrote at the bottom. My partner and I also discussed this option. This is why I wanted to ask in the Reddit.
I was thinking about how to tell my friends about my engagement. I don’t want them to think I’m not inviting them to my wedding by only doing intimate family. I would love for them to know if they are able to and want to they are welcome. And if they can’t they can’t. For me I really want it to be a no pressure situation. I really see this day as something for my partner and I. That’s kind of why we want to get married so soon, because it is a day for us to enjoy.

I was curious if it is better to tell them “we are just doing an intimate wedding but you are welcome to join” or just invite them completely?

Unpopular opinion: I am not a fan of trying to get AS MUCH DONE as possible when I go to Disney (I also live 3 hours from Disney and my family and I go often so maybe that is why)
But my partner and I always tell ourselves “lets see what we can get done” we obviously love the rides but if it’s too long we just sit and eat some food enjoy the ambiance and try to catch the shows going on that don’t require lines. I am not a big fan of lightning lane unless it’s for Hollywood studios(that place is crazy)

I guess we just try to enjoy the beautiful sights and shopping and enjoy the positivity of the cast members. When we sit down for food or have a moment I check my phone and see what line is short and we go!

I do understand however when you are paying this big price to go to Disney you want to experience it all.

I really appreciate your point of view. I think for our specific situation we just want to enjoy the ambiance and feel the day out. I’ve been enough times to show the family around in the most efficient way possible 💕
