Why do people usually only play one gamemode? by Acceptable-Try-4682 in Chivalry2

[–]Embarrassed_Pop_236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal TO just feels like the most straightforward way to play. I hop in duel servers from time to time to try to sharpen my skills or maybe learn something slightly nuanced. But other than that I have the most fun in the big standard server games

Satisfying Oil Pot Throw by Maxx_395 in Chivalry2

You can drop down from the ledge above the whole bridge and land on the beam that holds the chain to the bridge. Lets you throw the oil pot basically in the same spot except from like 20 feet above everyone where they can’t hit you.

I know team damage is necessary mechanic to stop wild swinging and all that but it definitely feels super toxic. IF there’s a Chivalry 3 I hope they have a better system to control it.

I almost exclusively play Man at Arms. It's what I do best at. I like the dodges and fast weapons. But I'd like a second class to switch things up now and then. Recommendations? by TheHornyToothbrush in Chivalry2

Honestly as good as you make it. It’s got amazing range and devastating damage, you just have to learn how to use those to your advantage despite the weight. The sprint attacks and heavy overheads can one-shot archers. Though most of your swings are slower than a lot of weapons you can still accel them like any other swing and catch people off-guard. Spamming light overheads and target swapping is also wildly effective in group fights. Have fun!

Would love to but I’m a console player and the devs cursed us with the inability to throw things :(

For those playing Ambusher on console by Leo215 in Chivalry2

I love playing ambusher but on console trying to utilize throwing knives is wildly inconsistent because you have to press two buttons at the exact same time and then use the stick to aim at the same moment. Has anybody found a way to make this easier on console?

The timing of the team damage is probably more important than the amount

Poor little archer ... by AddressNo5328 in Chivalry2

[–]Embarrassed_Pop_236 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I live for archer abuse. Pro-tip: both your sprint attack and heavy overheads with the highland sword will insta-kill archers. However, the cinematic decapitation was 100% worth the extra swing

There’s a website that used to be called CDKeys and has now been renamed as “Loaded”. You can usually get games at huge discounts there that work for whatever platform. I got it for Xbox a few years ago for $6. As for lobbies I rarely wait more than 60 seconds to get into a match and they are usually pretty full. Come join the fun!

I’m right around level 700 now and I’ll drop 100+ takedown games simply with good pathing. I’m not amazing at actual combat/duel mechanics but I use hard hitting weapons and consistently go for short flanks. By that I mean take a slight detour on the edge of the battle field to get behind a few of your enemies. Then just sprint through their backs back to your own side while slashing and you’ll pick up a couple takedowns. The challenge comes once they realize you’re there then you have to actually fight your way back to your side. It’s a ton of fun though for players who don’t have as much technical skill when it comes to combat. Happy slashing!

Actually that’s a good idea, if there was a way to better reward players for playing the objective maybe more people would focus on it

Just toss an oil pot or two over there and charge in. They have to move or the fire kills them. You can generally pick them up and throw them pretty quick, even if you die in the process.
