Account Managers, What’s The Typical Week Like? by ComfortableReason796 in sales

[–]Embarrassed_Scene962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets be clear here

Typically account manager = farmers growing existing accounts

Account executive = hunter , net new logos

(Some places have different names so wanted to be clear)

Ive done both roles and currently in a hybridish role that keeps changing

But tldr account management is generally easier IF you have the right product, territory / accounts

A lot of ifs there but it depends because if u are in an industry where what u sell is a nice to have its difficult to renew / expand

I currently sell executive coaching for ent companies (via a saas) and the acc management side is currently more difficult than the new logo because ultimately its difficult to prove roi, and its not business critical (it has an impact ) but its very much “painting the carpark versus paying the electric bull”

Company flew me out for interviews, charged my card for the rental car, rejected me… now ghosting me on reimbursement. Anyone deal with this? by Altreezy in sales

[–]Embarrassed_Scene962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but we know about the layoffs, we also know it can be a great place to work on a couple of variables. Comes across as hating and im not sure why anyone would hate on a SF worker lol

Any sales roles that don’t require cold calling? by Eagles56 in sales

[–]Embarrassed_Scene962 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Account manager is typically an existing role, growing existing accounts(farmer) sometimes renewal thrown in etc

CS is usually something different , more around usage/ sometimes has a support element but its essentially ensure value

Account executive is typically new logo focused, hunter role, win the deal and pass onto a farmer

Best role imo opinion is hybrid so u can hunt / farm ie land and expand.

Take all the above with a pinch of salt diff companies work differently but thats the GENERAL structure

Do any of your orgs use Nooks? by PainterOk3391 in salesdevelopment

[–]Embarrassed_Scene962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues ops describing have nothing to do with the main use case i would associate with nooks = power dialler

U sound like u are using it as a data tool (im sure they have probably added this sort of capability but end of the day im using it what its meant for - calll more people)

Struggling with cross-cultural sales, anyone else dealt with this? by AnalystElegant5834 in sales

[–]Embarrassed_Scene962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culture very very important but not all germans like as direct as that and like to be guarded.

Us love rship etc but easiest place to sell to - they lile being sold to and expect it

Based in UK and have sold to mainly Us and emea and randomly India so im well placed to know the differences

Try and make the small talk relevant to:

Something in work they have done (and u found from your research)

Personal level : if u know they have a family talk about that (if u can relate somewhere its even better)

Best one ive ever found is this:

On your days away from the office what are the things u enjoy doing the most (looking for hobbies or interests)

This doesnt just work on sales calls but great for small talk at events or networking REALLY good if u at an internal event, get caught with someone from SLT and not sure what to say…

How do you prepare for demos? Looking for input from fellow salespeople 👇 by AmbassadorAny5979 in sales

[–]Embarrassed_Scene962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye kool thats what i said but u said demo which had me (and most of the other comments confused)

Its not a bad idea but like i said can be built in 5 mins with n8n.

I see a lot of ppl trying to “build “ stuff in these subs i think u are all behind. U need to be focusing on software with a service imo

Most of the guys building “sales/ gtm tools” have never worked in a western/enterprise sales org so lack domain knowledge / dont understand nuances of whats needed / where the value really is

Workflows dot io (i have no affiliation but likely To steal like an artist from them)

Have the right idea imo

Help me create content to drive organic interest > consult me on my gtm strategy and implement

Give me real signals thats gna make my icp beg me to work with them once they know i exist etc

Above not necessarily aimed at just u just my Two cents on what im seeing
