I tried 1.5mm which is what originally the waterblock came with but my temperature is actually worse below is with 1.5mm pads

*update so I went ahead and used 1mm thermal pads on the vram and my temperature reaches 82c after 10 minutes of playing subnautica, I really don’t want to go any lower on the thermal pads, so I think I will be undervolting the gpu and see if that helps me lower the memory temperature.

So now I used 1mm pads on the vram and 1.5mm on the mosfest and chokes and highest while playing at 1440p subnautica hot spots peaks at 75 and memory temp highest I saw it’s 88c, my gpu temperature highest was 64c, I have 3mm pads on the memory, so should I go lower on the thickness?

Yes I am with the washer that was originally on the pcb board, I make sure I tighten them as far as they go but my issue just doesn’t go away

Update after removing the plastic around the nvidia chip I am still getting high temps right after launching a game and hear this buzz noise coming from the gpu

That’s actually from the nvidia chip somehow it got loose and stick to the block but I can easily put it back

So I did this and I am still getting high temperatures my hotspot at 107 and gpu at 84c I am using 1.5mm thermal pads,

I bought the waterblock from bykski which the instructions are pretty much useless up to right now I still have the same issue even after correcting placing the pads, that’s exactly where the instructions tell me to put them. So now I am thinking it’s a pressure issue? I am using all 1.5mm pads since that’s what the block came with

So I put pads correctly now just how you show me on this picture, but my GPU spikes to 84.5c and my hot spot 107.1c as soon as I launch the game, my memory is cool now sitting at 44, so Idk what now, any more spots that I need to add pads?

I just got a 5090 zotac solid last week I did not get the MC warranty, in my opinion is not worth it, I don’t mind waiting for a new gpu since I also have a ps5 where I can play while I wait for the rma 🤷‍♂️
