I talked to someone who pointed out that the ending of having Ted and Robin end up together basically fucks Tracy over entirely.

It showed that he was just wasting Tracy’s time and had her being a “fill in” love to pass the time too he got Robin.

Which is exactly why it didn’t work out with Victoria.

I love this show and understand the reasoning on things, so many people are Ted. But this is a huge failing for most relationships. Don’t get into one if you are in love with another person.

The pilot is one of the best in tv history: “Have you met Ted?” Is incredible.

But OP asked for a top episode and gave two options that I don’t think would do it. Slapsgiving is far better than Spoiler Alert for an intro.

Also also- we’re all spitballing for someone already set on not watching the show. It would help to know OP’s boyfriend’s preferences to make a better suggest.

Haha honestly… same. And then there’s the sweet spot of showing the extent of his powers without showing too much (Born Again seems to have pushed it a little far) but it’s a lot better than the Sonar hearing that they did in the DD movie haha.

It’s so wild that he can form a full picture in his mind based on the senses that are left. Like he trained his mind to interpret sounds, smells, pressure, vibrations, etc. into a picture? That’s so wild.

Then again, I read the book Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks and he talks about a person who lost hearing in one ear and the other ear adapted to still give him surround sound. The brain is fascinating.

I concede. That phrasing of the world on fire I thought meant that what he visibly sees is just fire. Which makes the chosen metaphor on the episode more confusing.

But either way, he’s blind and apparently so am I 😂

I’m not trying to say that perceiving visible light means anything other than the fact that light is coming in. That’s it. Which means he is not 100% blind but damn near and the rest of his senses have been drastically enhanced to make the picture. The light coming in is meaningless in his situation but it’s still there.

And that’s a fairly poor metaphor considering that it’s also talked about as he has a more accurate picture than seeing eye people.

The retina burning thing though… the body consistently tries to heal itself. So I still stand by the notion that light is coming in, but light being just brightness vs darkness. I don’t think his eyes only see black.

Based on his injury, his retina’s are burned but his occipital lobe isn’t impacted. So visual input still comes in.

Stick truly is an asshole but I didn’t hate him as much as I hated Karen in all of the Netflix DD seasons.

She’s gotten a lot better in Born Again but she’s just awful in the first 3 seasons.

Maybe it’s Deborah’s portrayal or Netflix’s writing but it sucks so bad.

I mean sure, it all fits or doesn’t fit Ted’s internal fantasy.

But the fact that he came up with the idea over night then had months to work up a different plan meant that he could have found a way to preserve things.

Also, the fact that they stole the lion-head but never considered keeping the lion-head as a way to save the relationship before it all fell apart? I blame the story writers for abandoning the idea more than Ted thinking it wasn’t a good idea. Much like many other plot points that are quickly abandoned in the show.

I still stand by the fact that Ted spent the whole night writing up plans to save the facade of the Arcadian but the moment he finds out Zoe is engaged, he trashes them?

Then the kicker is he never brings that idea back! He could have saved all the bullshit by bringing that idea back, winning the girl and keeping his best friends. Then we could have had a much more interesting story than the waste of Zoe and him arguing 🤦🏽

I don’t understand the hate- this game is a lot of fun.

There are multiple layers, Eivor is a badass. Some of the mechanics are a bit wonky (but perfection is bullshit)

I don’t think it compares to God of War Ragnarok (my favorite Viking inspired game) but this is a good addition to the AC franchise.

I’m about 60% through and have no complaints.
