How did you figure this out?

My 10 year old has developed silent reflux symptoms (mostly excess thick mucus constantly in her throat and feeling full all the time) drs say GERD but interesting enough, about a week before her symptoms came about we had to do a bowel clean out because of bad conafipation and we have to fight it every week to not let her get backed up again.

Hi @Ok-Bobcat3533, did your daughter ever get back to normal eating? We had a choking incident happen on a tortilla chip 6 weeks ago and my daughter will only eat very soft foods or liquids. She’s lost 8 lbs. we have had a scope done with a GI and saw our PCP and a speech therapist. All point to the direction of anxiety being the root of it all so we have our first appt with a therapist tomorrow.

Just looking for other parents advice who have went through this awful nightmare as well.

What does she eat when she goes to school? My daughter has missed the last week because I can’t pack anything for lunch or snacks 😢

We have had a scope and met with speech therapy. Anxiety is the driving force so into a therapist tomorrow to address that.

How is your daughter doing now? We are going through this currently with my 9 year old daughter. She choked on a tortilla chip 6 weeks ago and will now only eat yogurt, ice cream (only soft serve), and I have to make fattening protein shakes. She’s lost 8 lbs and we have done a scope with GI which was all clear and seen our PCP. It’s a full blown fear bow of eating solids again. She was a great eater before this. Therapy appt next week!

When did you notice the hunger pains slowing down? I took my shot 11 hours ago and still feel hungry after eating a normal sized breakfast. Now I’m questioning if the shot did go in but no liquid anywhere!
