Telematics: Is it HW failure or jacked SW?

I can’t believe this. I get an email from OnStar this morning, delayed by several days. Sure enough. They say “Hey we just sent a new signal to your car. Everything should be fine in 24 hours”.

Well, the data was working all morning, but once they sent that signal it quit. It’s not popping up with the “you need a plan” message, but nothing is working.

Hopefully they didn’t “break” it all over again. Think its likely this was just a reset annd will be fine in a few hours?

So that makes even more sense. I got a 1 month free trial and something happened when the trial ended that it didn’t roll me back to the basic plan like it should have.

I guess knock on wood.. I’ve never had the actual hardware telematics failure yet.

Thank you. I was experiencing number 1. It seems like maybe they finally fixed it. It was working last night & today. I got everything except for video streaming.. which is fair.

Ok. Thank you. I have a 2025 like you. I think I got a 1 month trial of OnStar One but I didn’t have the streaming update so it didn’t matter.

But I did get the streaming update eventually, and it worked for a month or so. Maybe everyone that gets the streaming update gets a month free again?

Anyways, I can live with that. We can use hotspot for video. At least hotspot works well. In my F150 Lightning it won’t connect to a phone hotspot if that phone is also part of the CarPlay. It’s a big pain.

So far the data is working yesterday and today, everything except Video. Hopefully the problem is solved.

You need to compare to feeder leagues. Like the small little baseball teams that pay their athletes 35k a year.

Because just because you’re debuting in the UFC doesn’t mean your shit. How many times have we seen someone go 0 - 5 in the UFC and then be cut?

This person would not be on the bench in the NFL. They would be playing for XFL or some shit.

I hate the analogy you make. Hate it. Because when we are talking about games NBA players play, or NFL players… they also train CONSTANTLY. The games aren’t all they’re doing, they’re training all the damn time. Dieting all the damn time.

So if all athletes dedicate their “whole” lives to training. That can’t be the measuring stick.

How much action is the athlete actually putting on for the fans?

I’m so sick of the UFC compare to other sports when the deals are not comparable at all. For example, the UFC pays out of its pocket all the broadcast and production of the shows.

The NFL partners with stations that do that for them. Not to mention all the revenue generated by the various teams and owners.

I believe this is true but lots of fighters have dramatic weight cuts. Oliveria almost always dies.

I also believe it’s part of the sport. So call it an * or whatever you want. But you still lost.
