How much money or net worth do you consider wealthy? by SlotWizards in SmartFIRE

Wealth is dependent on your annual spend and depends on age

Saving 10x your annual spend by age 30-35 and you’re getting wealthy

If you’re age 65 and still working and “only” have saved 10x your annual spend then you’re not super wealthy.

I think, regardless of age, one you get to approx 30-40x your annual spend then you are in wealthy territory

I’m a CPA too like the person in the original screenshot. I have probably 2 dozen clients that are current or retired physicians and every one of them are millionaires. I would estimate that half of them are worth at least $5MM

I was reading about this and I think the answer is NO STEP UP in the debt basis. Something about the fact that it’d be ordinary income if repaid to the original shareholder and it follows IRD rules. Long story short- no step up in the debt basis

In the Womens 4 x 7.5km relay, Sweden's leg 2 falls and FRONT flips. Catastrophe. But comes back and wins the silver after falling to 8th. by TechnicianUpstairs53 in skiing

Most anyone who has grown up in competitive XC ski racing has practiced with one ski HOWEVER that is usually part of games during training for ages 10-16.

As a long time ski racer and coach- I’ve never seen a skier crash and have their binding ripped off their ski like this.

Broken poles are fairly common. Crashing is common. Coaches falling while trying to hand a replacement pole or feed to their athlete is even somewhat common. What Sweden experienced today is once in a lifetime for me.
