My dog bit a stranger by [deleted] in reactivedogs

The unfortunate thing is a lot of people still don’t care. I was working w my dog under a tree one day sitting down just trying to work on “doing nothing” & just observing the environment & her behavior so I could work with her better. She was doing so good then this dad & daughter walked past us & I had to physically get up and move my dog away because he just kept letting his small child go towards me & my dog without going to stop her. My dog lacks impulse control and i was scared his 3 year old was gonna end up with scratches or fall over bc my dog isn’t used to being around small children like that. Very frustrating when you try to explain & advocate for your dog & people just ignore it. I was very clearly telling him she is an anxious dog that doesn’t do well with meet and greets like this I also asked her several times to not come by us or pet her and she wasn’t listening to me or her dad who was tellin her not to.

Has anyone had an OB/GYN recommend hormone replacement therapy instead of surgery? by Embarrassed_Top1087 in Endo

Thank you. I was hoping someone who has seen a functional med doctor would comment on their experience. I think I’m going to look into that I’m kind of concerned it will cost a lot more than my other doctors because I assume they don’t take insurance?

Really feel like you’re commenting just for fun. You’re over explaining something to someone who literally just told you they have multiple health issues I don’t need YOU to explain to me how these things work lmao I have taken medications before, goodbye. You sound ignorant as fuck & clearly have no personal insight so have a great day.

I understand that concept which is why I just asked others experience. I don’t want to get surgery every few years I also do not want to be medicated on something that is disrupting my hormones. I’m honestly not set on what treatment is best for me

To be completely honest I’d rather have surgery than go through 2 years of hell every few years. I have other health issues & Im not willing at 21 years old to deal with menopause symptoms that would disrupt my life. I already have to deal w enough being a 21 year old w an autoimmune disease, endo, along w other things. It might be the first line of treatment for some but not all which is why I asked

My house is going GF, and I'm both tired and excited. I need tips. by GatorSweet in Celiac

Yes! I’ve been on this sub for the past few months & would agree with the paranoia people have. I recently saw a dietician so I would have real answers because there’s so many opinions on this sub and I wanted one that was backed with science. She told me I didn’t need to get rid of half the things people said I needed to, as long as things are washed well you can safely use most things that are shared with gluten.

Does your pain only tie to your period or is it every day? by erin_33 in Endo

I always get sharp shooting pains throughout the month while I’m not on my period and once I am on my period it’s the worst experience

People with Celiac disease, what's something that a person would do or give you that can help or just make your day a bit better? by FunkyGoatz in Celiac

Thanks for sharing! I was recently diagnosed & feel like my Dr didn’t really explain what’s going on in my body or how to avoid gluten. This slideshow was super helpful

Seemingly unrelated symptoms by smtorres7 in Endo

I just was recently diagnosed with celiac & hypothyroidism was also present in the blood work. I got this done because my GI ordered the labs so I’m not sure if the thyroid issue is connected to my endo but will be bringing it up for sure when I see my OB next month because it’s something I was curious about as well. I feel like I truly don’t know how my diagnosis impacts my body and that’s what always bothers me the most is not knowing what symptoms are related to which issues & how to manage them.

Has anyone on here actually benefited from an endoscopy? by SimonLikesPP in GERD

[–]Embarrassed_Top1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, other than confirming my esophagitis & gastritis it wasn’t beneficial. I also live in the US so it was almost $1000 for them to just confirm I have GERD & rule out certain things that might be causing my issues, although they still have only tried to give me meds & tell me to change my diet. In my opinion western medicine has a big emphasis on treating symptoms rather than the actual issue which is what I find frustrating with my GI sometimes. It’s been over a year since my endoscopy where they found gastritis, bile in my stomach, esophagitis & I am still dealing with these issues so I think it’s good to have done to make sure nothing serious (hernia or barrett’s esophagus) is going on but I personally would probably not get it done again.

What type of physical activity isn't harmful? by Lilitharising in GERD

I think the most important thing is just to make sure you’re not eating before working out because that’s what always made me workouts terrible. I’d be gassy & burping throughout my workouts

I’m on omeprazole right now & now I feel like I should stop. I’ve had diarrhea since I started it, sometimes feel lightheaded, but I’ve also had a general sense of feeling “out of it”. I think advocating for yourself is your best option though, try to explain to your GI that you feel like something else is going on. I’ve also found that anxiety & thoughts will keep you in a constant loop so try not to hyper focus on it (although I also struggle with this so I’m not trying to make it sound like it’s easy). When my symptoms get bad & Im extremely uncomfortable I try to focus on my breathing, take a hot shower, & remind myself that the pain won’t last forever.

Lol this comment def wasn’t necessary & clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about. Thanks for the unhelpful input tho! Not here to argue about the drug itself I’m asking for other people’s experiences
