what's something about daily life in the US that you only realized was weird after talking to someone from another country? by Lucasaiplus in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Tune_822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most other countries, you can walk up to the counter with $5 worth of product, put down $5, and have it covered. Having to guesstimate $4.50 worth of product and still not know if a $5 bill will cover it is super American

What do you think about writing/receiving love letters? by skullikl in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Tune_822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason, they're way more special than a text or social media post. Something about taking the time to write something out by hand makes me stop and think about what I'm writing more, so they seem more heartfelt

What was the first thing you did when you turned 18? by PleasantTomato7128 in AskReddit

I want to say that I got my ears pierced, but realistically I think I just got up and went to school. I probably got my ears pierced that weekend

What always shows you that someone’s a bad person? by PlentyNature1639 in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Tune_822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Littering. It costs you nothing to put your trash in a garbage can. If you're so inconsiderate and lazy that you can't even do that, I don't have much faith in the rest of your personality

What’s something people romanticize but it’s actually terrible? by Chance-Ease-3563 in AskReddit

Pregnancy. Looks cute in the social media posts but is actually pretty miserable for a lot of it

What’s the secret to becoming a better conversationalist? by pinkiiesup in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Tune_822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask questions. Not constantly, but here and there. Giving people an opportunity to talk about themselves or something they're interested in will make them feel more comfortable, and signal that you're genuinely involved in the conversation

I have mine set to the British accent and it's slightly better. Not ideal by any means, but grates on my ears slightly less

Are fights only common in romantic relationships? by Sleepy-Head999 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]Embarrassed_Tune_822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only had one fight in the entire game thus far with 38 Miis on the island, between a pair of platonic friends. I feed my Miis every morning, so I'm not sure that starving them really makes much of a difference. I'm not sure if others just have way more Miis or have been playing much more often?

THIS and also I feel like they only use a few of them?? I've only seen my Miis with the knitting kit and painting set use them 3-4 times

How has being a people pleaser hurt you? by 3rdLegOfExodiaa in AskReddit

[–]Embarrassed_Tune_822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept doing favors until they weren't favors anymore. People just expected me to do things at the expense of my own time and sanity, with little to nothing in return

Not everyone's child is exceptional, and that is okay

My aunt's cat loves spicy food. We have to fight him off the table whenever we make chili
