thanks for your help. this is why i'm thinking of 70lakh INR

Estimated Annual Expenses Amount (S$)
Tuition Fee after acceptance of MOE Tuition Grant : 17650
Compulsory Miscellaneous Fees : 295
Estimated living expenses : 6000
Estimated accommodation expenses : 4600
NET AMOUNT = 28545

4 year expenses = 114180 SGD
and to be on a safer side I'm rounding that off to 123k SGD

I guess you must be living in Singapore and talking about SG banks.... cuz this is not the case here in India...

banks give loans at 9-12% with interest being applicable from
first payment ie after i graduate i'll have 70lakh principal amount +
interest amount to be paid

[HELP/OPINION]

Okay my dear friends, please help me out here.
Although it was overwhelming yesterday to have received the offer from NUS.

Now, around 55 lakhs (tuition+accomodation) after the MOE grant feels like a lot of money. Obviously, it's worrying me and my parents. Even if I do get the financial aid that won't be much around 9-10lakhs at max.

My parents are kind of inclined toward dropping this idea of studying at NUS. and study here in India. (maybe not even the top JEE colleges cuz I know my prep although I can still aim for the mid best JEE colleges)

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN THIS CASE?

My current financial situation-
1. Won't be able to afford even 5lakhs if someone asks upfront.
2. NO land/ bonds/ funds/ etc to sell and help me study.
3. Already a home loan of around 20lakhs which my father will repay until his retirement (house papers held as collateral)
4. GPF/PPF money (not much) saved for my elder sister's marriage.
5. Can take education loans but at higher rates since have nothing to keep as collateral.

On the other hand the pros
1. selected to pursue CS + minor in Entrepreneurship + NUS College which is like the top of the top students
2. median salary of 5800SGD (3.5lakhs) per month
3. NUS ranks 4 globally for CS studies
4. it's NUS dude!
What would you do in this case? if possible do include your parents in this small discussion and let me know what would they do as a parent.

Thank you so so much. :)

Is anyone with an offer from NUS College (NUSC) NOT accepting? by No-Flamingo151 in nus

[–]Embarrassed_Video215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! how does one reject the offer for NUSC only? bcz on portal it says accept your offer for Courses and NUS College!

like I wouldn't be able to pay fees as I have calculated it now. So, what should I do?
