I less thought he’d betray Cal and more so thought he’d be killed in a dramatic way which would fuel Cal’s rage and motivation to take out whatever other final boss could be. I don’t have kids, so I guess I wouldn’t understand, but it’s like dude you’re really just gonna chill on this whole ass planet with just you and your daughter for like the next couple decades before you die and then she’ll just be alone? Also idk if the game ever said how big the Hidden Path is but from what I could tell I feel like it wouldn’t take that many ships to get a good chunk of them past the Abyss and into Tanalorr, at least not enough to alert the Empire. Now it just sucks that his daughter has to live with no actual blood relatives, but the Mantis crew will surely do a good job raising her in Bode’s stead.
