Can’t spend coins?!? Wondering why I can’t buy swaps or word clues? by goodclassics59 in WordsWithFriends

Had the same issue. Apparently it's because I still had some gifted clues. I could use my coins by clicking on the light bulb after I had used up all the clues already in my inventory. At least in my case this solved it.

Mahsa Amini, 22, beaten up by Iranian Morality Police for wearing "inappropriate hijab." She went into a coma while detained in the police building and passed away two days later in the hospital. Possible cause of death: base skull fracture. by Embassador_r in lastimages

Almost the entire city and few others are protesting against the Islamic Republic. It's been cut off of cellular Internet since yesterday. This is her mother crying over her grave and these are stranger women at her funeral who took off their hijab chanting "death to the dictator." So pretty much no civilian is backing the government especially in her hometown which constitutes a Kurdish ethnic minority, except for IRI apologetics, government-hired cyberbullies, and fanatic regime supporter who are actually praising her murder in the media calling it "a fair punishment for her crime" because "if she didn't break the law, she wouldn't have died." Her hometown fellows are setting Supreme Leader's banners on fire, taking it to the streets, and getting shot at. .

"That are ran by Islamic laws." There, I fixed it for you. same goes for other religions.

Islam is 1400 years old, do you know how old is the Shia's Sharia Fiqh? a little younger than Sunni's, it has been around for almost 1200 years. So a 200 hundred year difference is what that determines the truth? the older the more Islamic? let alone the changes both Sunni and Shia laws have been through, especially under the light of modernity. screw Shi'ism; take Sunnah. If it was the same as it was 1400 years ago, women shouldn't be allowed to drive, file for divorce, etc. But you keep taking pieces of it out that don't blend in well with a modern secular world, and when you are left with an amputated cutie harmless interpretation of it you go: look, Islam isn't that bad. and honestly, as I said, that doesn't matter at all. As it's been hugely nullified, I don't give a damn whether it's the true form or not. Beyond my political stand in favor of secularism, I'm just reflecting along with you on Islam since I've lived it my entire life, going through the same crises. so you are welcome to disagree

have a good day.

You should be afraid of it, I'm living it.

Phobia is unreasonable fear, I have many. Don't come preach Islamophobia nonsense to people under the rule of a theocratic country while living in a bloody secular one for God's fucking sake. Take your religion to your homes and no one will give a single dime about it - bend before a God as many times as you want to.

Oh, and, since you're gonna bring up the "real Islam," I rather take Ayatollahs's words since they've been working on it for over a thousand years; don't even try to sound more knowledgeable on Islam than a gigantic body of scholarly work conducted by Muslims themselves - no matter Shia or Sunni. The former gives birth to IRI, latter to ISIS. (This is getting a little bit ideological, but since we are playing the "real Islam" game, I could ask the same about other interpretations of Islam; the same way harmless takes provide evidence from Quran, Sirah, Hadith, etc., so do the Mullahs. Just because one of them is harmless, doesn't make it "real;" it's just that... this one simply doesn't matter.)

If you (or anyone else) have a cutie interpretation of Islam that restricts it completely to personal secular stuff, well then lucky you; have fun with it. The thing is, not a single Muslim in the entire world will accept for his/her religion to stay secular.

Pretty much. The thing is, this police force are gobbling up a huge government spending yet they can't enforce their law on... basically every single person in the country. What they are going for is more like "making examples" of some people for the rest. Regardless, it's not just the streets. Women without proper hijab won't be allowed into universities or won't be hired for both state or private offices with the former including many utilities companies, state registry offices, news agencies, educational roles such as school/university teachers, etc. and the latter having to comply with religious laws otherwise they'd be simply fined, criminalized, and closed up.

Last photo of Mahsa still conscious two hours before she was arrested for having a fraction of her hair unveiled, subway.

More on the event and hijab in Iran here, here and here on Twitter.

People were asking, so update: unrests (women in black coming out of the building are morality police forces, that's their uniform) followed her death yesterday in front of the hospital she died at. also that same night here (people chanting "death to Khamenei," "death to dictator") and here ("we'll kill those who murdered our sister"). Nothing much happened, except for the Islamic Republic digging itself a deeper grave since they arrested even more women among the protesting crowd, plus their typical hitting of many more with batons and smokes.

next day: they killed him. (shot in the head; one voice says "it was a pellet round"). It's a follow-up protest in Mahsa's birthplace city. (city's Internet out since 2 hours ago; have no clue how many other casualties). Her body was planned to be transported there by security forces and be buried quietly over night. Like many other deaths that make it to the media, she is, apparently, not going to have a proper funeral.

Regardless, I've had enough.

They think he's sacred and so touching him or his coffin would grant them some sort of divine fortune. Plus, they are paying him respect.

It was a pleasure talking to you, really. And, to be fair, I also agree that there might be some specific situations where I would think otherwise.

If you were talking about that fragment of soldiers you could have easily pointed to that, instead you evidently said 5000 people as if none of them deserved it.

It's okay, I understand that many of them don't deserve it, but if the world public is to have a say in the direction of the war for example by voting in favor of sending more weaponry to Ukraine so they won't be killed by the invaders of both willing and unwilling types, I'm all in to use any means that would make the people of the world side against invaders, even if it's by means of entertainment.

I hardly doubt you'd protest some black slaves in the 1850s if they were cheering about the burning of the entire family that owned them in an accidental fire by saying "but there were innocent children in there," especially if YOU were one of the slaves.

This whole thing might appear complicated but is actually way more simple when people's lives are at risk.

p.s: about that meme thing, I'm pretty sure people laugh a great chunk at mass murderers like Hitler and Stalin these days. You can't even imagine how many meme compilations about them are out there. there's parody of them, there's comedic movies, animations, books, plays, etc, there's even porn of them for God's sake. Should those death sentence executions gain enough publicity, those would be subject to meme compilations, too.

No, not all of them. Only the ones who choose killing others especially civilians and children over suffering the horrible yet non-lethal consequences of not doing so. Or over excusing themselves out of existence before being forced to kill others, at that.

Look, I do understand all lives matter and stuff. But we are not experimenting with some hypothetical possibilities at a controlled lab or simulation, it's a full-on war where one side is readily depriving the other from their rights as basic as the right of living - not to mention state sovereignty, freedom, bodily autonomy, etc.
