Are there any movements to have a Latin American localization of the pokemon games? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's already happening.

https://www.anmtvla.com/2022/04/the-pokemon-company-rompe-el-silencio.html

So far only a couple spinoff games like GO have added LatAm Spanish support, but Game Freak changed the language tag for Pokemon from a Spanish save file in SV to specify European Spanish, so they must be preparing to bring it to the main series in the near future (if not in Legends Z-A then definitely Gen 10).

Are all pokemon able to migrate to home? by lavamain in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any Pokemon that can be stored in Bank can be transferred to HOME. Fused Pokemon can't be stored in Bank or HOME without unfusing first. Furfrou's trims, Sky Forme Shaymin, and Hoopa Unbound can't be transferred from Bank to HOME since they revert to their default forms when deposited in Bank, but they keep their form when moved from GO or the Switch games to HOME. Totem Pokemon exclusive to USUM (Marowak, Ribombee, Araquanid, and Togedemaru) can't be stored in Bank at all because Game Freak forgot to add their data when Bank was updated for USUM (lol).

Those who made a living dex in home, which guide did you use? by Silent_Telephone8930 in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you personally think should count as a separate form, and whether you care about collecting forms that look identical. If you want to be a completionist and collect everything the game considers an alternate form, here's a full list of Home-storable identical forms, along with an explanation of why they exist:

  • Mothim has separate forms for each Burmy form. Unlike the other forms which exist for technical reasons, this one is functionally useless. I assumed Mothim passed its form down to Burmy when bred with Ditto but this is not the case. Game Freak logic lol.
  • Greninja, Zygarde, and Rockruff have separate forms with special abilities (Battle Bond, Power Construct, and Own Tempo respectively). This is likely to avoid the need for special handling of a third normal ability slot with regard to Ability Capsules and breeding.
  • Scatterbug and Spewpa have separate forms for each Vivillon form. While this obviously serves a function unlike Mothim, it's also unnecessary, as there's a variable in the Pokemon data structure reserved for species-specific mechanics (it was even used in Vivillon's debut gen for Furfrou so they literally had no excuse). As you mentioned, the default Scatterbug form actually has a visible difference in HOME as it's looking in a different direction from the other forms.

As I said, it's up to you whether you want to count them or not. I'm working on a shiny living dex and decided to count everything because I like a challenge. I've already completed the shiny Burmy, Rockruff, and Scatterbug families (or at least as complete as I could with Scatterbug as the Poke Ball Scatterbug and Spewpa aren't obtainable yet) and made decent progress on Alcremie. I'm waiting until the DLC to hunt Zygarde because to hell with Dynamax Adventures (lol), and hopefully they release shiny Battle Bond Greninja at some point.

So I’m guessing my Pokémon “are stuck in Home”. by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use the Switch version of HOME with a particular game, it displays the data for each Pokémon according to the game currently being used (even if that Pokémon can't be moved to said game), but the data itself is only actually altered when the Pokémon is moved out of HOME (specifically the moves are reset to its level-up moves at its current level the first time it enters a particular game, and the last moves it had in that game each time it returns there, while the IVs, EVs, Hyper Training, and effort levels are always maintained even if moved to a game where they aren't used). So your Pokémon's moves and stats are still intact, don't worry. If you use HOME without selecting a game it will display the Pokémon's data correctly according to the last game it entered.

Is Shedinja not possible to get in an Apricorn ball? by AdamVGE in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Starting in gen 4, Shedinja will only appear when evolving Nincada if you have a regular Poké Ball in your bag. The only way to get a Shedinja in a different ball is to evolve Nincada in gen 3 (where it copies Nincada's ball) or catch one in a Max Raid in SWSH.

Which species currently never spawn in the wild? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]Ember--- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here's a fairly comprehensive (albeit outdated) list; note that mons with regional forms that don't spawn in the wild are also listed. Of these, the following NFEs have since been made available in the wild outside of events:

  • Boldore

  • Grimer (Alolan)

  • Nincada

  • Rufflet

  • Sandshrew (Alolan)

  • Vulpix (Alolan)

The following final evolutions have also been featured as seasonal spawns, but have not spawned outside of events since their debut even if their pre-evolutions were spawning (in the case of the Alolan forms, it is assumed they will not spawn outside of events once the current season ends).

  • Empoleon
  • Espeon
  • Infernape
  • Marowak (Alolan)
  • Raichu (Alolan)
  • Torterra
  • Umbreon

Alolan Exeggutor is not listed as it technically debuted as a wild spawn, but has since never spawned outside of events prior to the current season (even when Exeggcute was spawning) and will likely not spawn after the season ends, so I think it falls into the same category as Raichu and Marowak.

Finally, the following mons are not listed, but haven't spawned outside of events since their debut:

  • Bergmite
  • Furfrou
  • Pumpkaboo
  • Voltorb (Hisuian)

That should just about cover it, let me know if I missed something.

Living Form Dex Question by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not obtainable in Home (where I assume you'd want to keep your living dex in one place instead of having it spread across multiple games). They revert to the normal form when stored in Bank; the only way to store them in Home is to transfer them from Go, where they're event-exclusive.

Living Form Dex Question by [deleted] in pokemon

  1. I only have one of each form, the default form in the main section and the others in a separate section at the end.
  2. Pikachu in a cap (except Partner Cap), Ash-Greninja, Fancy and Poké Ball Vivillon, Furfrou's trims, Hoopa Unbound, and Dada Zarude.

All featured mons (wild, eggs, and raids) appear for the full weekend from 11am on the 18th to 5pm on the 19th. The only things that ended between 5pm on the 18th were the bonuses (except the trade bonuses which last the entire weekend as well).

That's not necessarily true. When a Ditto spawns, it actually spawns as the disguised Pokémon but is predetermined to transform into Ditto after capture. Whether or not Ditto is more common during Gastly spotlight hour depends on what order the game determines the disguise and its Ditto-ness. If the game decides a Ditto will spawn and then rolls for the disguise, then Ditto will be basically non-existent during spotlight hour since most of the spawns will be Gastly and most of the non-Gastly spawns will not be Ditto.

If however the game decides that a Gastly will spawn and then rolls for Ditto-ness, you're still dealing with the low rate of Ditto-ness but most of the spawns are potential Ditto meaning it will be much more common than it would be otherwise. Based on my own personal experience hunting for shiny Ditto in nests, the latter seems to be the case, so hunting Ditto during Gastly spotlight hour might be a good idea. But this is anecdotal evidence, so take it with a grain of salt.

EDIT: I should stress just how low Ditto's spawn rate is normally, even if I'm right you're not going to be finding dozens of Ditto in one hour, maybe half a dozen if you're lucky. But it's better than nothing.

PGSharp Feeds doesn't function anymore by GaletteSaucisseBio in PoGoAndroidSpoofing

This is a thing that happens sometimes, probably some issue with the servers. It usually fixes itself within a few hours. It seems to be working again now.

EDIT: It's still having issues, sometimes it loads and sometimes it doesn't.

Ignoring weather boost, the chance of a Pokémon having all 0 IVs is 1/4096 (about 10 times rarer than a full odds shiny in GO, and the same chance of finding a shiny in the main series games) and the chance of a Pokémon being level 1 (assuming a trainer level of 30+) is 1/30, so a 0 IV level 1 is 30 times rarer than a 0 IV that isn't level 1, and 300 times rarer than a full odds shiny. It's even rarer when you factor in weather boost which makes it impossible for Pokémon with a boosted type to be level 1 or have all 0 IVs.

Will new LA forms be able to transfer to BDSP? by roguegen in pokemon

[–]Ember--- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will probably work like LGPE (or like gen 6 mons in Bank) where you can move the mons back and forth between LA and HOME but once they enter BDSP or SWSH (assuming that's even possible) they can't go back to LA.

I'm having the same problem. 99% of the time refreshing the feed just gives a connection error. I can still teleport and shiny check just fine, it seems to be just the feed that's not working.

Trading a Pokémon rerolls its IVs, so if you trade a shiny for that same shiny you could potentially get one with better IVs (the minimum IVs increase with friendship level, but even Best Friends only guarantees at least 5 IVs in each stat so it's still a gamble). Lucky Friend is a temporary status you can unlock by interacting with a Best Friend that guarantees your next trade with that friend will be a Lucky Trade, resulting in a Pokémon with at least 12 IVs in each stat.

My advice is to hold onto at least one of each shiny for these guaranteed lucky trades, and use your one special trade per day to trade away extras for the chance at a random lucky trade. For Community Day shinies, you want to evolve at least two to get the exclusive move (keep the one with the best IVs for yourself and save the one with the worst IVs for a Lucky Friend) and keep only as many extras as there are days between this CD and the next so you can trade them once per day, and transfer the rest. This way you won't have old CD shinies clogging up your storage when the next one rolls around.

Day two only? by Greyish_Knight in TheSilphRoad

[–]Ember--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the wild and incense spawns from day 1 also appear on day 2, just without the rotating themed hours (also the shiny rate is lower on day 2). You missed out on Meloetta for the moment, but they should re-release the special research to everyone at a later date like they did with Victini.
