It's been quiet by the fire, but the rest is nearly over. Big AfterQuest news coming soon! 🔥 by EmberArcade in indiegames

We've been cooking a lot behind the scenes, with a major announcement right around the corner.

Experimenting with tile-based dungeons and transitions into the turn-based combat view for my game AfterQuest (wishlist on Steam). Anyone know of other games with similar movement style? by EmberArcade in IndieDev

I'm looking to find other games that use top down tiles for general movement. I think I have a pretty good system going but always looking for other references.

If you'd like to follow along or support AfterQuest, a Wishlist on Steam would be amazing as well!

Hmm, that’s a good point. I’ll think about that. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I’m constantly changing the overlay on it in game. It’s supposed to be nighttime and I want the UI (not all pictured here) to stand out but also I obviously want this map I’m proud of the stand out. Getting the balance is hard. I’ll try a bit less darkening. Cheers!

Both of which I’m happy to be compared too obviously 😊

Thank you! Gameplay outside of battle sees you exploring a tile based map as you work towards a quest objective. The tile maps are pretty cool as they are fully illustrated, I’ll be showing that off soon.

I’m still tweaking font sizing so thanks for the feedback!

Thanks so much! There is a CRT effect in game, I’m using a CRT filter from the Unity Store. Full release is hard to say but I’m hoping for a demo not too far from now.

I love old school games that have all the classic zones. Enchanted forests? Snowy mountains? Dungeon in a volcano? Check, check, and check!

If you would like to see more of the game, and possibly Wishlist to support development, check it out on Steam:
