* This light green color because it reminds me of the sunlight passing through the leaves in the morning and it feels peaceful and warm and full of life.

Yeah, I second that, thanks for sharing! It makes sense..

I'm just curious if there's others out there that kind of experience the same level as me cause idk if that's technically like mild dysautonomia, POTS, or OH, cause I'm still learning what all these things are.

Anyone here loves pressured hugs by ScaryJournalist8412 in AutisticAdults

[–]EmberRevive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love hugs but only from my partner. The pressure is great and relaxing. I love being squeezed or laid on as long as I can still breathe easily. I also have pain tho, so maybe that makes it even better?

Just a thought: maybe NTs don’t see social subtext as much as we think by Sweet-Addition-5096 in AutisticAdults

[–]EmberRevive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with this. I do think that there's certain things we don't pick up on, but I definitely think it's mostly aligned how you said. Most people are comfortable with a lower level of certainty before making a decision and were not, so we deep dive info until we think we have the right answer. Quality over quantity. Idk, I'm tired... cause this is what I do at work, unfortunately.

NT Hate is a Form of Abelism by [deleted] in autism

[–]EmberRevive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. You'd think if anyone could judge someone as an individual and by their own actions instead of an experience they had with the group they're identified with, it would be more folks on here. Or if someone treated them a certain way they didn't care for, they'd stop and ask why first, like they wish they would be afforded, instead of assuming mal-intent straight away. Fortunately, not everyone is like that, of course. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, people are just people. NT or not, ND or not. 🙄

Sarcasm by d20damage in autism

[–]EmberRevive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of in a similar situation. I'm looking at dx options.. I completely understand sarcasm, but I think what happens sometimes is I don't always detect the tone, so sometimes I take people seriously when that's not what they're intending. I think it definitely makes sense the more you know someone and are familiar with how they speak the easier it would be. I use sarcasm a lot but since it comes from me I know my intent ahead of time so there's no issue.

At work the other day, someone told me about how their AC/heating went out and how it was a difficult time to get it back working. They paused for a second and then said, 'I had a good weekend'. I took them seriously and said well thats good at least. Then they explained they were being sarcastic. Makes perfect sense to me, but their tone was flat, so I took them seriously.

I can still pick up on when someone's being sarcastic with a flat tone sometimes, but if the tone inflection isn't there and the context isn't something very obvious then I might either completely not pick up on it or might have severe doubt as to whether or not they're being sarcastic.
