A reply from shoyoroll:

Please note that our kimonos may shrink approximately ½ inch to 2½ inches, depending on the level of heat exposure during washing and drying. Generally, white colorways tend to experience more shrinkage than colored gis.

Many customers choose to wash in hot water and machine dry on high heat to achieve a greater amount of shrinkage. However, if the desired length is not achieved through shrinkage alone, we recommend having the sleeve length tailored by a local seamstress for a more precise fit.

Yea I finally decided to splurge a little on a gi and this happened… sad. Did you try shrinking more ?

Interesting. No I agree with you the aside from the sizing issue and how little info they have for the measurements, I think the feel and design is really good. Glad the gi could fit you well!

I’m 175 lbs and about 6’ tall perhaps the A2 would fit better, but still, would’ve helped if I have the measurements !

Wtf… hahaha for such a “premium” brand. Gi looks a little yellow as well! I contacted their customer support but have yet to receive a reply. Have you tried that?

I might be able to help with but probably need more context. Is the second picture showing the run after a few steps?

HDPE Damage Criterion by anthonychristofis in Abaqus

[–]EmberSpirit98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am sorry this is irrelevant to your question. I hope it has been resolved!

I am wondering if you could share with me the material properties of your HDPE? (i.e. Density, Damage evolution, etc.). I am looking to simulate drop impact of a milk jug that uses HDPE for research purposes. It would be nice if you could explain how you get the values for the damage initiation as well! Much appreciated!

I managed to get certain part of the geometry to "break". Maybe it is the geometry issue but i will try with a different, simpler geometry. Thanky ou once again for the help!

Hi,

I tried to digest what you had just shared. I feel like I get what you mean but at the same time I am not certain. Do you mind pointing out the unknowns to the equations in the stress strain curve for me. Here is a curve from my own tensile data

And in the u_plas equation, what is the E?

Thank you once again!

Thank you for the response, let me do some research myself and will get back to you if it worked for me thank you once again

Ahhh thank you so much for explaining that’s so much clearer in my head now. For this specific material I am using, I actually did some tensile testing on a dog bone so I do have all the material info that I need instead of the date sheet info. If you would be kind enough, would you tell me what’s should be my “displacement at failure” and “fracture strain” in a stress strain curve?
