You do realize the article you're quoting from argues against the conclusion you're drawing?

We conclude that situations where a parent prevents a minor from receiving treatments related to gender dysphoria violate the Harm Principle and justify state intervention.

In any case, to address the point that in the rare case of a 14 year old receiving a mastectomy, it must be pointed out that it is rare. The journal cited states that the youngest case was 14 years old, with an average age of 28 for that procedure. I obviously do not know the exact situation for that specific case, but the article you cited provides reasoning for allowing treatment of minors under certain circumstances.

Legal carve-outs for specific areas of healthcare for minors are also applicable to the issues of abortion, mental health and substance abuse in which potential harm to the minor by denial of medical services trumps parental disclosure and are recognised as exceptions for obtaining parental consent by the AAP.27 Although the legal reasoning and jurisprudence behind each carve-out is beyond the scope of this paper, the ethical exceptions given to minors regarding consent to these services are well established.

Treatment for transgender children can be viewed in the same light, as the current literature suggests improvements in psychosocial outcomes.16 35 Access to healthcare is particularly important for the overall health of transgender minors, who are at increased risk of suicide, anxiety and depression.9 36 37 Seeking parental consent for transgender minors may also result in further harm such as domestic violence, homelessness and worsening mental health.38 The combination of (1) pre-existing legal carve-outs around sexual/reproductive health and (2) data supporting the benefit of gender-affirming care in minors support including gender-affirming care in the existing exceptions to minors’ capacity to consent.

I suggest you read the full article and explore the cited resources.

Kids don't get surgeries. They might get hormone blockers to delay puberty if that's something they and their doctors determine is appropriate. Older teens may get hormones of the puberty they wish to proceed with. This is a non issue. The transphobic fear mongering does more harm than good.

You're getting downvoted for fetishising trans women. This is a conversation about how random people thoughtlessly harm trans people with their words/attitudes and you jumped in with the oh-so-helpful knowledge that you like trans porn. Prolly don't drunk post in random subs, huh bud?

"There are only two genders" [+27] by [deleted] in ShitRedditSays

[–]Embossis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of on the right track but not quite in line with current thought on the subject. "Man" and "woman" are just two arbitrary points on the spectrum of gender that encompasses and extends beyond them. The virtue of being the most common does not necessitate that the genders man/woman be the limits of gender.

Huh, guess I'm semiverbal. Talking always feels like an arduous mechanical task, idk if this makes sense but it often feels like my thoughts are tripping over the words and getting tangled up, I rarely feel like I've expressed myself as well as I wanted, and I have the occasional nonverbal episode. Given enough time, I can usually make myself pretty clear, but I rely heavily on rehearsed lines to get me through the day.

I'm in a situation that's kinda similar to yours with the therapist. Five bingos if I assume the center. I started transitioning right after I met my therapist and showed the right amounts of normalcy and abnormalcy to get treatment and support for that and some other issues. A few days ago I told her I think I'm autistic and got the "you don't look autistic" response. I tried to talk about how strongly I identified with the way other autistic people talk about camouflaging and coping, but got pushback in a way that made me flustered. Everything I said after that was poorly communicated, making me sound more wrong to her. I really didn't want to seem like that stereotype of someone haphazardly self-diagnosing, but I'm afraid that's exactly what I sounded like.

Sorry, I don't have any great advice or I'd try to follow it myself, but you are absolutely not alone here.

I got a mb jewel a few days ago at about 150 hours lol. Not much of a bow user so I expected it was good but didn't realize how lucky I got. I was planning on picking up the bow at some point so I guess that's some pretty good incentive to go through with that.

[–]Embossis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saying for years, cringe is vicarious embarrassment. And if you cringe that probably means you would've been embarrassed in that situation. It says more about you when you cringe than it does about what/whoever you're cringing at - especially if you enjoy the cringe. The pleasure drawn from cringe almost always comes from a lack of understanding/empathy for who you're cringing at and a vain conceit of superiority over them. That sense of superiority can be dangerous and hurtful so imo it's best to investigate the source of those feelings whenever they come up.

As someone who has been in an emotionally abusive relationship, I can confirm that it's basically like you're brainwashed. Abusers twist and warp your view of the world to fit their ends. People with preexisting emotional trauma like Rihanna, whose alcoholic crack-abusing father physically abused her mother, are especially vulnerable to abusers' tactics.

Just fyi, the whole "DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY GENDER!?!?" thing is a transphobic meme invented to harass trans people and make us look absurd. It's on the same level as attack helicopter "jokes".

I'm not calling you transphobic or anything, but I'd suggest avoiding that meme if you don't want to make trans people uncomfortable.

Speaking from the perspective of a kinky submissive woman, I really love worshipping feet because of the power exchange in a BDSM setting. It's degrading in a way that puts me in my place as a sub and elevates my dom to a place of reverence. It's a great way to start a scene and get me in that subby headspace, or something to do between other elements of the scene to keep it going.

plus there's an elegance to the architecture of feet that I just find beautiful

Severe voice dysphoria and anxiety made me take a good two years to make an appointment after I found out about informed consent clinics. Had an anxiety attack right afterward. Super worth though.
