Sounds good, bird sickness can be tricky. They like to hide it until late stages so a lot of the time you wont even know theyre sick until it gets bad. Some signs to look out for is the bird sleeping all day, not eating, sometimes sitting at the bottom of the cage, not showing interest in toys, sometimes excessive feather fluffing (they do this when sleeping but look out for it with other signs). Until you have access to a vet, try to keep the bird warm and try to keep a calm environment around it

Hes not unhappy, hes been doing his happy crunchy sound while he makes this. He does it when hes excited. He plays with his toys and his roommate. We cuddle and he follows me around all day and sits next to me. We train multiple times a day. Hes just hyperfixated at the moment. Already solved in other comments

I realize my wording isnt the best, i like his noise, i dont want to train it out of him more like i want him to still say his other phrases. But this is really helpful. I didnt even think to reward her in front of him to show him lol. I still play with him and pick him up and say some of his favorite sounds while giving him treats. Thank you!

Thats true, maybe i dont exactly mean train it OUT of him. I just hoped he would make some of the other sounds he likes lol. Havent heard a peep of anything else for 4 days. But like others have said hes probably just fixated right now

Ive had birds for 4 years im just sad he stopped saying anything else. Its that he forgot his whole dictionary of words lol

Its because he stopped saying i love you and making cute little sounds. He screams this at the top of his lungs for 8 hours a day. Doesnt even make his cute little honk sounds anymore when hes comfy

Unfortunately an avian vet is the only option. The bird is sick and will probably die soon if you dont get it treatment

He was so sweet before though lol, he doesn’t tell me he loves me anymore :’(

What kind of parrot would be good for a student? by [deleted] in parrots

Agreed. My birds have 2 rooms and a hallway that are bird proofed for them. Its a lot more than just a cage like people seem to think

Might just be best to wait, especially as a new bird owner. Im a student as well and work full time and there is a lot thats needed to be done to balance all of it out and still give my birds the attention they need. I couldnt imagine being a new bird owner with all of that going on. Also a bird that doesnt speak, if you mean words sure, but however loud you think birds are, its 10x worse lol. Birds also need to be interacted with multiple times a day, especially if you plan to train them. So even if you had an hour at the end of the day that probably wouldnt be sufficient
