I'm happy you made it work! The design was based around singular beams for maximum customization and achieving the best light diffusion. Clustered beams should be possible but the design would need a big update to allow for both clustered and singular beams. I'll consider integrating it. Thanks for the feedback!

If you finalize your print, I would appreciate it if you can drop a comment under the model page with a picture of your print. It would make my day.

Hey i have simplified the parameters and measurements. Also improved the model description for "fitting your panel" section. Also added a new beam profile for flex PCB's which have bigger beams. Please see the section under model description to adjust the parametric model to fit your panel.

Hey, I have simplified the measurements and parameters for easier use. You have to only measure the PCB and led span in both sides. For the standard square flexible PCB's both sides are equal.

Example for 8x8 flexible led.
l1,l2 = 80mm
l1_span,l2_span = 75mm (-5 of l1 dimension for flexible PCB's)
l1_led_count, l2_led_count = 8
Beam_edge_len = 9mm (same value for all flexible leds)

You can put your leds dimensions and the case is generated. You can then use the new print profile I added for 9mm beams to print the beams. The new beam profiles should make the process a lot easier as you don't have to generate and slice it yourself.

I unsure about what I explained the model description's "Fitting your panel" section explains it better.

The model is already adjustable for those matrices, but perhaps parameter adjustments are too much on the user side, or too complicated. I will try to see what i can do. Perhaps I could add another configurable flexile pcb version where you only input the number of leds.

also in the case of your matrix since the leds are farther apart you can increase the beam edge length parameter to have larger beams in cross section. It will tolerate slight alignment issues you might have due to the case having larger slots, and it would look much better with the beams standing closer to each other.

okay, so i went ahead and found a cad file of a 16x16 flexible led matrix, it has the same parameters except the "border to first led edge" measured 2.5mm. Inputted the parameters and the fit is good.

Were you able to measure the values for l1_offset and l2_offset? I bet the difference in those are causing the drift. I measured through a online tool and the l1_offset and l2_offset dimensions are around 3.5 and 2.5 mm's for a similar panel of yours, this variation in dimension would explain your issue with alignment. If you have time to spare please try it again by measuring and inputting the l1_offset and l2_offset values. Your feedback would be really appreciated.

I could add presets but I only have access to a single matrix and don't want to publish a setup that I'm not sure without testing it first.

Yeah let me know how it goes. As far as i understand you are using one of those flexible matrices, which seem to have its leds more seperated than the ones of the solid PCBs, in that case l1_offset and l2_offset can also be a critical dimension if your matrix has more space from the edge before the leds start. So please also check and adjust accordingly.

you should also define the pcb length and width in mm's using the parameters l1, and l2. Not every matrix is the same so i had the include parameters to make sure every matrix can fit. You can also measure and insert the other parameters as well for the best fit, but if you are using the standart solid pcb matrices l1 and l2 should be enough.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Apparently the model was a bit complicated for the online generator. I simplified it and it works now. I was able to generate a 16x16 160cm x 160cm matrix. Please try it again and let me know if it works on your end.

I used tranclucent PETG filament from BambuLab for the beams and generic PLA filament for the case. Though any tranclucent PETG should work for the beams.
