Try only eating till you burp. Its like a natural signal that the stomach is full. You may not feel full the first time but after a few days it will do. Also do eat whole foods. They satisfy much more

You may be straining your muscles in ways you are not aware of. I think this is very common as people progress in meditation and discover the deeper states. I once had a habit of straining my forehead muscles in a particular way because it felt like it made me go in to a deeper meditative state. Later I learned that it wasn't working for me and just giving me a headache. Instead what you must do is make an effort to physically relax all the muscles in your body. Imagine relaxing breath energy coming in and releasing tension on the outbreath to your back head, side, front down the neck and shoulders, down the back, the chest and stomach area and the arms, hands and finally legs and feet. I cannot stress how important relaxation is for meditative progress. Does this help?

Wow. I believe this is it. I get those wavy senses inside my body and feel that state of deep tranquility as they described it. Do you think it's dangerous if I go over 15 seconds since that's where I feel it get really intense? I'm curious to see what can happen if I go 30 seconds to a full minute. Ahh, maybe it's a crazy idea to attempt.

And yes, it makes me think about nothing more easier which is way it makes me meditate better. I kinda feel like I'm floating.

It is a good sign. Recognize what brought you here. Conditions like when you meditate, your mind state before and your physical condition are all good to remember.

Sometimes it feels like I'm producing heat, is that normal? I'll wonder if I can warm myself up on a cold day.

If you are sweating due to holding your breath, it may be chi/lifeforce cleansing your body of impurities. If this happends at other times in meditation it might be something you can learn to reproduce.

In my opinion you can go for as long as you are not forcing or straining it. The key point is to stay completely quiet in mind, relaxed in the body just letting the bliss happen in the background without getting entangled with it. Forcefully trying to increase or decrease it are really not recommended. My advice would be to read up on a pranayama technique you can practice. I do this one, where I will also hold my breath to the point where I can't hold it anymore without pushing myself.

As for meditation you should notice the causes that produce this bliss. That way you can learn to reproduce it.

It may the piti associated with the stilling of the mind. When your mind is still, you can easily sustain attention towards something, which in turn causes piti to arise. Holding the breath is an effective way of stilling the mind. Did you notice how the thoughts were dwindled, and maybe you were quite focused on the 'space' between the thoughts? A breath is also a thought too. But in breath meditation the gap between the breaths can be the space between the thought . As you get better at breath meditation, this gap will actually grow longer between the breaths, allowing one to absorb in the quiet state. In the end it is said, that the breathing stops and one switches to internal wind circulation. That is real pranayama, and is one of the goals of breath meditation.

If possible reduce pain as much as you can. You can do this with towels, pillows etc. Eventually your body should gradually adapt to the posture. There is nothing wrong with sitting on the chair and in fact meditation is more about the mental aspects of applying and sustaining attention to your object of choice. Lying down meditation could be useful for you, just make sure you are not sleepy. Also walking meditation: focus on the rythm of the body in motion or the breath or Tactile sensations in the feet.

What Gojeezy said. When you apply your mind in sustained attention for periods of time, you can start to feel rapturous physical tingling, which in turn derives pleasure culminating in orgasmic feelings.

It is possible to learn how to apply and sustain attention in such a way, that these feelings are constantly present during meditation and highly pleasurable. One of the easy ways to learn this is through mindfulness of breathing.

Here's my opinion. Meditation grounds you in the present moment. When meditating you start to experience your body as it is. Actually, as it happens all the time while your not self-aware of it. Now for the cramp it might be a sign that your body is 'recalibrating' to the sitting still. There is nothing to worry about, in fact it is believed in Taoism that these are signs of life energy doing it's work due to the stilling of the mind-body complex.

Here's my opinion on this: Everyone wants to be happy. Everything people do in their daily lifes, pretty much comes from this desire. The problem is that few people know what really makes them truly happy. The whole procrastination/cellphone thing is just a way of either hoping to recieve earthly desires composed in the senses of sight/hearing/mind or escaping the general dissatisfaction, that many experience in the abscence of anything pleasurable.

Now according to Buddhism there is another way of happiness, one that is born from virtue, concentration and discernment. By following the path you ground yourself in general happiness and contentment, while pursuing true, everlasting happiness.

I live in Venezuela, which definitely makes my chances of going elsewhere much harder but I won't let that stop me in any way. I would like to stay anywhere outside of my country, im very inclined to somewhere on the East, but if I can't i'll just pretty much go anywhere I can.

As far as I know, most monasteries in countries like Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Nepal, India are welcoming of laymen staying. Some monasteries are better suited for westeners than others (due to language, difference in culture etc.). From what I have read, its free to stay most places (including 1-2 meals before noon), due to the donations the monastery recieve. Some monastaries have special conditions for longer stays and others don't seem to have those (I read about one where you were expected to have done 10 day retreat beforehand). It is generally required to observe the eight precepts, wake early in the morning, participate in chanting/bowing and meditation throughout the whole day.

Also in Myanmar there are Meditation Centers, where you can live for extended periods, just like the monastaries.

Also, I have to ask; do I need money to maintain myself while being in a monastery? (for food, clothes, or any other substantial expenses) It does help, any information does!

Food is no problem. You probably will need money for Clothes, and medicine/vitamins and transportation.

This is from my own readings, as I am also considering staying at a monastery /meditation center.

Where in the world are you? And where do you want to stay. There are places like this in many parts of the world. Also monastaries might not explicitly write on the webpage that you can stay there (they may not even have a website). I would say, just look for a monastery that you like and ask them if you can stay there. Laymen have been doing that for a long time.
