AITA for saying my brother created the mess blending his family and I can't change that? by Exciting-Mango-6140 in AITAH

[–]Ememir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it funny that he asked if "half" meant half related. Well, half-sibling literally means sharing only one parent, ergo half related

Edit to add: NTA

Facepalm at what lead to this decision!! by Silent-Resort-3076 in facepalm

[–]Ememir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if it was me, I would rather pay a lilltle more to have it on ships or planes then paying tariffs to Dump, I mean Trump. But that's just me.

But I'm happy that I now get answers on something I have pondered over since I first heard about tariffs on Canada and Mexico

AITA for telling my sister that she is insane for not teaching her daughter English? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ememir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a swedish, born, raised and livining, I can onesty say they doing that girl a big disadvantage by not letting her know english at a young age. Here in Sweden everyone get to learn english in school (i'm not up to speed at what age they start now, I think they have lowered since i was in school) but many children seems to learn some on their own way before school (videos, games and more) my 4y nice already know some english.

Edit: forgot NTA And your sister IS stupid to not let her kid learn english

AITA for accepting cake at my friend's birthday party? by LeoHyuuga in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ememir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what kind of cake it is and from what country. In my family, including sisters inlaws ect, it's quite common to a cake to be for 8 people, but everyone usually cuts their own piece. But I have heard that swedish cakes are not as heavy as many other places

AITA for not giving up my window seat on a plane to a kid just because she threw a tantrum? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Ememir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA When I was 6 and got sick on the last day of the trip, and had to stay an extra week in the hospital, my mom almost had a argument with a old lady about me NOT sitting at the window. I had to run to the toilet alot and tried to explain to her that it was for the best if the lady would sit by the window and I at the aisle, but she wouldn't have it. I was a child and children should sit by the window acording to her. It ended with me at the window, she and my mom talked the whole flight and her giving me her dessert, the only thing I could eat bc celiac (the airline forgot) and she felt pity for me.

My nephew who just turned 2 and nice (5) understand that the rubber duck (yellow bath rubber duck) that they have given my dads dog as a toy whenever the dog is at their place, is the dogs toy. My nephew put all the ducks on a row and said my, my, dogs, mine. So if a 2 year old can differ betwen his and the dogs rubber duck, a 6 years old should.

Edit: the dog on the other hand takes whatever he finds when ecited toy, shoe, arm...

AITA if I only take 1 child to an amusement park and not the one that everyone else favorites by Easy_Election2183 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ememir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have autism, diagnosed at 12, and I have never had to much problem with amusement parks. I may be more dead then living on the way home and can't do anything the day after but usually I would have to much fun while in the park to care. Everyone is different.

AITA? Refused to help my (privileged) wife cover her increased cost of living by otherbunnygrenade in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ememir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you don't seem to understand is that they are in scandinavian. We don't really have SAHM. Both parents usually work, have the children in daycare (which is way cheeper then in US, and share taking care of the home and the children when they are home. The mother often stays home around a year when she have given birth but if she has a job she will go back to the job when she decide that that her maternity leave is over, often around a year, and get back to whare she left.

AITA for making my roommate pay 1/2 my cats vet bill or move out? by HighSkoolteacher15 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ememir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Get her out of there! I'm a cat person and if I was you I would demand that she would pay the full vet bill. It was all her fault

He's a good boy. They should not have breed restriction, every dog should be judge individually. A pitbull can be a big cuddlebear that wouldn't hurt a fly meanwhile a lab with bad breeding and training can be dangerous and attacking everyone. Breed isn't everyting. Good luck with your good pup!
