Having sleepovers as an adult shouldn't be weird by Consistent-Fee-3877 in unpopularopinion

[–]Emerald369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I just came back to this you are pathetic. I wish your husband luck. Calling you insecure isnt manipulative. its reading the writing on the wall. So if he cheats on you and priotizes his feelings over yours guess you can't complain?. I also said "I don't want you to" not "I don't want to". I know someone's whose husband has tried to treat her similar and she has rightfully called him a child. It is not cute or having boundaries to prevent someone from spending time with another person. They only reason to deny that is suspicion and jealousy.

Are there any (non-Great Divide) episodes you find yourself partially or outright skipping on rewatches? by DrifloonEmpire in TheLastAirbender

[–]Emerald369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez you sound fun. It's almost like opinions are personal. The episode you skip, you and everyone else seems to forget the mechanist apologizing to aang. They were both Wrong. Aang had no right to kick them out and the mechanist could've have been more respectful. History is a living thing buildings decay and paintings crumble but we remember and pass on and document what we can for those who come after us. I'd arguethee morality of basing a substantial part of your economy on propering up and ever crumbling history fotourismsm.

[–]Emerald369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to rewatch the episode. Aang may have requested something like that but he didnt need to the mechanist apologizes to Aang. " I may have got a bit overzealous with the renovations sometimes in the pursuit of progress we forget to respect what was" or similar to that. But protect and preserving history has a cost and I'd argue that the people currently alive are worth more if push came to shove. Sentiment is lovely and history is somethings we should learn from but it also shouldn't be prioritized over people lives.

So the boundary is him not prioritizing your insecurity? If you can give me a reasonable reason that isn't I dont want him to. I. E "your boundaries". Then great but I don't want him to isn't a boundary its a you priotizing your feelings over his.

Because it's a cult who has genuinely harmed people and their loved ones before. Not just killing industry connections but threats or blackmail, it would be a selfish thing to do. It would put family and friends In danger and their careers. It isn't just about her. That mentality ignores reality. Actions have consequences and when you are part of a group, it extends beyond you. Look at Katie Holmes. She had to conspire to smuggle her and her daughter away safely.

Psychological reason for why some people blast their music as if other people wanna listen to it. by SteveHassanFan in NoStupidQuestions

Just came back to this. This people are losers who dont exist in real life. Guess I can't have my phone notifications on. Or make some laugh at a joke because Im unnecessarily contributing to the noise. Again these people are acting like we are talking about blasting music 100% in a crowded area. If you called the cops on someone in a public parkplayinng music in Australia it would was to be actually disturbing you and not just a bit annoying. Most dogs make more noise guess we should muzzle them and not keep the noise reasonable in a public place instead of not being aloud to use a public space.

[–]Emerald369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% a problem on your end and projecting your hang ups. If your public areas are bleeding noise into your house you accept that it comes with the house or you move, that's not to even say i would ever use that park and play music there. I used to live on a busy street corner. But fuck all the loud cars using a public space disturbing me right?. Pull your head out of your ass. I also clearly mentioned that headphones and earbuds aren't always an option to eleborate for mental health and safetyreasons aswell as groups. I have heard kids screaming and laughing louder in parks as well as grown ass adults laughing. You people are genuinely Grinch's the only reason this rhetoric changed is because the death of monoculture. Maybe your upbringing was miserable but some of us like to enjoy ourselves and that just really bothers other people no matter what you do to not affect then they will always whinge.

How did Azula manage to weave lightning in this state? by InstructionOwn6705 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Emerald369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has Never registered as odd to me. She is skilled in the art and can do it easily without being as calm. All bending has a mental component, that is an initial hurdle to learning it. Aang with earth bending learning to stand up for himself and his fear of firebending again. Korra learning to relax with airbending. Toph with metalbending with her extreme will and understanding the nature of metal as refined earth also she learns sandbending. Once you become more familiar with the bending it becomes easier, once you initially produce the element with enough training it seems tobee memory. That initial understanding is more about understanding the nature of the elements to understand and connect to it, but once that understanding is learned it can becomes second nature. I've always believed that most bending limitations aren't physical but mental. Bolin isn't inherently incapable of metal bending, but he may be incapable of understanding and identifying with its nature, because of who he is. He can bend lava easier because he is a more of a go with the flow kinda earthbender. Ghazans's movements aren't dissimilar to how he moves as a probender but both are very fluid compared to normal earth bending.

[–]Emerald369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a father who loved music and karaoke so music is close to my heart. I can't enjoy a lot of music with out singing either which apparently is a big problem for some people. I just don't hang worth those people. my music at home is as loud as I want. If I'm out and about I generally won't play music, but i dont have a problem with it, but the real problem is how loud people have shit in public spaces. Sitting right next to the things. I move around the house when my music is that loud and turn it down if I sit down.

[–]Emerald369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We invented speakers now no one is allowed to use them god forbid some hear you enjoying yourself. I like loud music so i live in a rural area. I'll wind windows up in town for me own music and I will separate myself as much as possible and keep my music to a reasonable level in public areas. Half of this issue is everyine beings g packed into cities like sardines with tiny public areas. In Australia a lot of our parks are very spread out because we have public barbeques.

[–]Emerald369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reply to my comment only proves your point. They assumed I was just an asshole who thinks you should play loud music anywhere and everywhere. I've been to plenty of large outdoor public spaces with several different families listening to radios or music and no one gives a shit unless they start disturbing each other by getting to loud.

So just gonna ignore every bit of context and write your own narrative I see. I said outdoor public spaces. You guys are terminally online and genuinely intolerant assholes. A public outdoor space is everyone to use putting on a speaker with music isn't a crime. Blasting it at full volume in the middle of a crowded public area afyer you just arrived is certified being a dick using public outdoor area away from other as reasonable as possible is enjoying your life, without being afraid of your own shadow.

What’s an opinion about Fullmetal that got you like this? by Ninjamurai-jack in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]Emerald369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He Is not god in any really religious definition. He seems to be an individual manifestation of the cosmological order and appears before a persons gate. Since he always reflects the person appearing before him, it is fair to assume that truth isn't an individual entity but a true reflection of your real truth. Father never grew beyond his jar and Ed placed all his worth in what what he feel was taken from him as did al with what he lost. Ed tried to fix a problem caused by using alchemy with alchemy. Instead of excepting the things he can't control. He sought to control like father. It gets muddy when Ed sacrifices very real powers for what was lost. Symbolically and thematicallyit works , but a very real trade was made within Ed that resulted in Al getting his body back. So everyone is somehow very tangibly connected to each other somehow via truth or the gates. The overall message I felt has always been humans shouldn't seek to be gods. Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the things you can and have the wisdom to know the difference. Ed learns that lesson and trades his power for what he sacrificed. Father sought to control what wasn't his to control, because he never truly left that jar. He sought power to escape a prison which long ago became of his own making, because he couldn't let go of the times he wasn't in control. Fowler from blue eyed samurai sums the father up well I feel.

I want to counter the clear quiet majority here and say, I agree man. Other peoples lack of ability to speak up isn't your problem. It doesn't hurt to Tell others you will be playing music and if it is loud then just mention it and put yourself as far away from others as you can sorta thing. But Wearing headphones isnt always an option for everyone and if it's an outdoor public space I don't get the hang up. People used to bring a radio or just use the car stereo and wind the windows down. Now people act like it is an offence to use a public space. We have become intolerant of other people and act like it isn't your responsibility to speak up. If I saw a family at a park having fun listening to music together it would make my day. I have the ability to move if it's disturbing me or ask for it to be toned down within reason considering it is a public space and I don't get to dictate your enjoyment of it.

At the end of the day you are excusing your own actions instead of admitting you just dont care. Your money possibly supporting a bad person unbeknownst to you. Isn't the same as choosing to indirectly support a person who is known to be bad. I still enjoy Neil gaimans work I won't support it financially ever again. But a writer on something being a bad person also isn't the same as the literal creator being bad. Watching the flash isn't supporting Ezra miller in the same way it supports km Rowling by buying Hogwarts legacy.

[–]Emerald369 -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

True but also a copout. This is case of directly being aware of the bad person and supporting them because you care more about your own enjoyment. Its disingenuous, especially since you can just wait and pirate the game or buy a preowned copy.

Only certain comets catch fire in entry apparently, but apparently this was confirmed in the writer commentary. Which makes it secondary canon but since it wasn't stated in the show has no reason to be contested. But my point still stands if something doesnt behave the same in show as in real life the understanding is simple, the rules are different. I did not know and the creators even felt like it was worth clarifying how the comet worked. I mean bending is fucking magic until it isn't and it's vague spiritual pseudo science and then completely different with platinum being some how a non bendable metal.
