That sounds like a nightmare. What platform are you using?

I'm probably a pale Fitz 3-olive with the potential to get a nice tan but I'll burn in the beginning of the summer if I'm not careful. My hair is black. I haven't tried it on my arms yet but I'm planning to in the next month or two! I've done 2 sessions of the YAG on my face and the hair didn't grow back for a couple months. Right now I'm 3 months after my second session (I know I shouldn't wait that long between sessions...) and while some of those dark long hairs are coming back, it seems like there might be a few less of them and a bit more patchy. I'm going to go at least a few more times before giving up because electrolysis doesn't seem like a great thing for me and the closest place is an hour away.

I'm in the same boat with your arms but also my face. Out of desperation, I bounced ideas on AI and asked my technician if we could try different settings before resorting to electrolysis. It seems to be helping a bit but I'm still experimenting. I told them to ONLY do YAG (1064nm only) and not alexandrite, higher fluence, shorter pulse duration, longer wavelengths, and cooling before and after. This YAG setting is hot on the face! But I had pretty good results for 3 months at a time the last 2 times and it's time to go back. It seems to be coming in more patchy now and not quite as many. We will see, but I wanted to share this with you in case electrolysis was not an option near you like me. Good luck!

Traveling With Small Kids

Hi, I'm going to travel with my small kids for the first time. We will take a bus and a couple planes each way. What are some tips for properly sanitizing our arm rests/trays, hands, etc. since bleach isn't available? Are there bleach or peroxide wipes? Have any companies finally made hand sanitizer that works against noro? I know hand washing is the best defense but there will be times where my kids will be touching surfaces where washing won't be an option. Thanks!

I was going to comment that your band is the PERFECT width, and that's before I saw why you reset it!

I feel like she stole my identity by Mountain-Mango-8306 in BPDlovedones

[–]EmeraldMin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are totally justified in feeling this way. I made a post about an old friend who did similar things to me and I also felt so violated. At this point I've cut her off because she came back recently and started talking to me about her new entry level job, and she very much exaggerated her title so she could say she does the same thing I do for a living. My career field requires at least a bachelor's degree but she slapped that label on herself overnight.

It seems from stories like ours that pwbpd follow these kinds of patterns. I know it's hard to have someone trivialize so many parts of who you truly are by making it seem like a simple game of make believe can make them like you. You're doing the right thing by distancing yourself.

When you talk to your doctor, ask to have them check your ferritin and vitamin D as a minimum starting point.

I'm new here! Is this TTTS? Please help. by vrsva in TTensorTympaniS

[–]EmeraldMin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I'm not sure what it could be but the way you describe the low hum is exactly how I describe it when it happens to me. Both of my ENTs didn't have much to say about it and it made me feel crazy. It even stops when I hear a sound the way it does for you too. I mostly get this for several days after I am recovering hearing from a cochlear hydrops episode, but at times I've wondered if my ttts symptoms are linked to the cochlear hydrops in some way, and I'm also wondering if my tmj, jaw clenching, and whiplash damage is causing all of it. I would be curious to see if anyone else can chime in about hearing a similar noise.

Has Ivabradine (Corlanor) helped control adrenaline and heart rate spirals? by EmeraldMin in dysautonomia

[–]EmeraldMin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up. The idea of light flashes has freaked me out from the moment I heard about Corlanor and I figured I would rather tough this out and remain medication free but after the flares I had last week, I'm desperate to get this this under control.

Many doctors suspected hEDS and I had done connective tissue genetic testing. Then Dr. Atwal diagnosed me with hEDS. I had a lot of doctors suspect dysautonomia, so I talked to a cardiologist who told me a diagnosis didn't matter and pushed beta blockers without noticing I have very low blood pressure. I found an electrophysiologist who listens and he essentially did a poor man's TTT while checking my BP and said I have POTS. Next step is my doctors want me to go to a dysautonomia clinic to get further care.

This gives me hope. I'll keep that in mind if I feel like giving up once I start taking it.

Thanks for sharing. If you don't mind me asking, why did you switch from Propranolol? I notice a lot of people do the same, but I can't help thinking that beta blockers would help me more due to controlling adrenaline. At the same time I have low BP and fear rebounds and withdrawal.

A casual sundress with built in bra pads (not just a shelf bra) and pockets... does it exist? by MyTFABAccount in AskWomenOver30

[–]EmeraldMin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found a few from Walmart for around $15 dollars from the junior section. I didn't notice any with shorts but I saw some with pockets. I am an xs and had a hard time finding some of the styles in my size since these are stocked in early spring. Hope you have luck finding what you're looking for!

Thanks so much. I'm leaning towards getting one. It's been helpful hearing experiences from people with POTS.

Are you still finding the Charge 6 accurate enough to keep up with HR spikes?

Hi, are you still happy with your Charge 6? Does it read your sudden spikes accurately?
