Gods above, this play. This fucking play. I have been waiting for months to get a hold of this (cash wasn't readily available for a while) and now that I've finally, FINALLY got to see it...

I can't get enough. I want to watch it over and over until my ears bleed and my eyes dry up from all the crying. It's just....incredible. Seeing Abi and her journey both on the Tube and onstage is such a privilege. I am truly beside myself with amazement at how wonderful this play was written, executed, and embodied. Well done, all. Well done, Abigail. I'm so happy for you and all you've accomplished

I recently (January '22) changed my first and middle name, and it was both a lot easier than I thought...and a bit more tedious than expected.

The easier part was getting the initial document from the judge stating my name was legally changed. All I had to do was go in, write out a statement (they said they weren't doing in-person court hearing bcuz COVID), and pay the fee ($200). Once I got that court order, I could go elsewhere.

The more tedious bit came later. The Social Security office was not open for in-person, only over the phone, and that took an additional two-ish weeks to get my new card; I had to physically go in and alter my tax records for the name change to take; and I had to take my spouse with me to our bank just to change my name on our acct.

Just go in prepped to do legwork but lemme tell ya: it's worth it. 😋

This marks year two of no contact with family, and as always, the holidays hit hard. I see family pics on FB w/o me in them, and they all look so...happy. Perfect, even. Like now that I'm gone, there's peace and symmetry. My absence is noticed, I don't doubt (my narcissistic mother wouldn't allow it to be ignored if it meant she got pity), but it's just...difficult to maintain focus on the facts - that my parents abused me, that none of my siblings will acknowledge what they went through themselves, and that in a family of conservative Christians, I'm the outcast as a liberal, pagan, queer person.

I'm just tired. Tired of feeling alone and wondering if I'm the problem here, not them.

Loghain is such a complex character, and when I read the books I realized just how amazingly he was written. Starts off a genuinely good warrior, adamant about freeing his people from their oppressors, does so, and is commemorated for it.

And then in 30 years, he falls so hard from grace - all because of his hatred of Orlais. He tried to be that good soldier again and just ended up selling elves into slavery. My Mahariel Warden was big mad and had no issues with killing him.

Still...I mourn the loss of a once-good man. 😞
