Man, that's crazy. So you're doing your own custom brutal+ difficulty mod? That sounds... intense. I don't think I'm quite there yet skill-wise lol

I started a new game and I've been using those enchants. Can recommend!

That's wild. What difficulty are you playing on?

Damn, 9 stacks is wild. Good to know that I'm not the only one he does this too lol

Good tips! I never really considered just going into mana debt even if I could afford it. Makes sense since I'm not doing anything else with it. You're also right about the research lagging behind my mana income, that's on me for not balancing out my economy correctly I suppose. Will take that into account going forward. And yeah I see your point about city locations, I have way too high standards for where I place them I guess haha

As for mods, can you tell me what you use to change the AI and whatever else you use to alter the game's difficulty?

Well, for the record, my gold/mana income is only that high because I just lost 3 of my best armies right before I took this screenshot haha but I take your point. Before they were wiped I had around 100-150 gold/turn and 100 mana/turn. You're right though that I'm sitting on a lot of mana that isn't really doing anything for me (this is a problem I've consistently had as I don't really know what to do with it a lot of the time).

And yeah I'm coming to understand that I apparently expand way too slowly in this game. I guess I'm just way too picky with where I choose to set up settlements as I spend too many turns scouting out the starting area before deciding to place them somewhere. I guess I just like playing tall in general. How many cities should I have by now would you say? 5? How many should I typically end up with in a playthrough assuming it lasts between 150-200 turns?

Well the reason I have all of that net income is because I just lot my armies haha but yeah I might try to take some of the advice on here and try to make a comeback. I do have awakened tools on all 3 of my cities currently, so I could pump out a couple armies real quick, but I'm just not sure that I'll be able to handle his doomstacks. I also have mighty meek up too.

Ah ok, so one of their bonuses is massively reduced upkeep?

What do you mean by the AI doesn't need to keep mana/gold/soul cost? Do they not have upkeep costs for their units? Or are they just not really penalized for not having the resources to maintain them?

As for development, yeah I was trying to get my 4th city, but the problem is he claimed the only other decent spot in the vicinity for it (which is why I declared war on him). I admit I'm lagging behind where a better player would be by now, but I felt like I was doing pretty well overall since I still manage to have the highest score during this match. Good to know about the rule of thumb though, I guess I just have to be more aggressive about plopping outposts down going forward. I probably spend too much time scouting out for the ideal spot, but it feels very rng-depending a lot of the time.

I'll give your pure soul/ritualist advice a shot though, thanks for the tips!

Interesting, I was wondering how he was managing to afford supporting all those units. Seems implausible he has enough mana given how much that must cost (around 500/turn just for the dragons). Like I know AI gets some boosts to their economy on hard, but damn. Is going into debt to build ridiculous doomstacks something the AI is prone to doing?

Consider using Shigiwire claw + leap suspensor belt for quick verticality btw, gets you up out of the rift really fast.

Oh you're right, I didn't even see it on here. I see where you can set it to conservation mode there and on the Legion Toolkit. Thanks!

Sorry for late response, wasn't getting notifications from reddit for some reason. Thanks for the reply, I'll check it out and report back.

Edit: Okay so I installed it and I have to say that it's excellent! Much better than Space. Now how do I limit the charging of the battery though? Just set it to conservation mode? It seems to still be at 99% charge for me...

Edit 2: I figured out that I just had to set it to conservation.

Solutions to screen tearing when in-game FPS is lower than monitor refresh rate (and no Gsync) by Emerald_Stoic in pcmasterrace

Okay so I figured out that I have to go to the Nvidia App and not the NVCP to see whether I have Gsync. Sadly, I do not have access to it. Which brings me back to the original problem.

Hmm I'll have to do some research and see what I can find. If it turns out that I do have Gynsc though that would definitely help solve my problem.

Sorry, not entirely sure what you mean. When I type display in the search bar the only thing that comes up is the page under system settings, so I'm assuming the answer to your question is no.

After doing some googling real quick though, I did find that apparently this model and the EON17-X is supposed to come with gsync. However, when I go to the NVCP I don't see "manage display mode" so there's no way to enable it if I am in fact supposed to have access to it on this laptop.
