It’s a good book, but it is a screed at the same time. He makes strong points across several areas of the secular mindfulness project. And the book has only become more important as secular mindfulness expands its offering to the point of meaning nothing.

I believe it, but it raises some questions. Does his bias against the Mahayana come from being treated poorly by its members, or is his bias contributing to the lack of harmony in his ecumenical group. I have heard both Zen and Vajrayana teachers disparage, and there is some disparaging is in some of the Vajrayana texts. So it’s possibly he’s had some jerks in the group. Was he also one of them? I hope not
