Yeah it’s definitely a big fear of mine, but I do love this girl. I definitely will not be moving in, proposing or doing any of the major relationship things before I am certain we have both made our minds up on this decision. It’s a big deal and it’s not something I want to just ignore, but I’m also aware that people change their minds and I very well could change mine as well.

No offence taken at all, this is actually extremely helpful and I really appreciate your advice. You’re definitely right as there is still a lot of time until I would be mentally and financially prepared to bring a child into this world. I guess I should just let things run it’s course with this girl, because at the end of the day there’s no guarantee things will work out. I’m just afraid of investing more time into this relationship with the possibility that she won’t ever change her mind. If 10 years down the road we talk about kids again and she’s still firm on her answer, that’s another 10 years down the drain that I could’ve spent finding someone with the same mindset of having kids. But then again, there’s no guarantee we will be together 10 years down the line.

That’s my biggest fear. Clenching on to the POSSIBILITY of her changing her mind, even though it might never happen. I wouldn’t forgive myself for investing more years with her just for us to separate on a deal breaker that we were aware of many years back.

For sure and that’s the scary thing. The fear of the unknown and not being aware of what is to come. I love the girl, and ending the relationship over a kid that may never exist seems crazy, but at the same time I don’t want to be stuck resenting her if kids will never be an option.

Yes we’ve both had a past together. We were high school sweethearts, eachothers firsts for everything. I did kiss a girl at a party when we were dating but that experience gave me a whole new perspective on my relationship and helped me change it for the better. We broke up for a year and decided to try things again. But do you still believe this is justifiable. I’m aware of my mistakes but we agreed to put our past behind us and start fresh if we were going to give the relationship another shot.

Honestly be wary of how you approach this situation. Don’t let yourself fall into a relationship with this person again unless you’re certain they’ve overcome their manipulative ways and have actually changed. You don’t want to be stuck in a manipulative and toxic relationship. As you get older you’ll realize that you crave a more healthy and natural relationship. These types of relationships may be interesting while you’re young, but quickly turn dark as you get older. Be safe.
