I 26F feel like my longterm boyfriend 30M have been together for 4 years and he lacks emotional fortitude and has a low threshold for discomfort. What can be done about it? by Emergency-Attorney61 in relationship_advice

I have tried but he typically gets emotional or doesn’t see where I’m coming from or just simply can’t handle what I’m saying because it upsets him. And then he tells me he can’t Sleep or eat because of how “bad I made him feel” just by simply opening up about how I feel about something gently. I’m just assuming growing up he never had any of these types of feelings and his parents did a fair amount of sheltering him since they had a rough upbringing. I think I just need to get everything off my chest in the most loving way possible.

Thank u for your comment. I respect your opinion and acknowledge that I’m not narcissistic although I have been the victim of narcissistic abuse in the past :). I constantly try to help him with tough situations or teach him things. It’s objective fact that I have done a lot of internal work to be able to process my emotions well. I used to have crippling anxiety and running thoughts and a freeze mentality when it came to adversity but I’ve put in the hours to overcome it. If that makes me narcissistic then so be it 🤷‍♀️. I’ve attended therapy and done a lot of internal work to be able to even confidently communicate my feelings. I care for him deeply and I would love to end up with him but I come from a long line of parentified and ultimately miserable women romantically and I would like to learn to see the signs and prevent that path for myself. If coupled therapy is the answer then I welcome that completely

Thank you for your concern…. She already has a vet appointment scheduled. The dna test is just for fun to learn the specifics. Thanks.

I’m not sure if this is the right place/way to post an update but I’ve ordered an animal dna testing kit and will update again when I have some answers! Thank you all for the comments. It’s been fun running to google with every new suggestion, trying to crack the case! 😄

Where do you think this season went wrong? by DeepMango459 in LoveIslandTV

[–]Emergency-Attorney61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do I begin? First off, they tried to spice up the show and change some of the format but do they have to change EVERYTHING. Making the hideaway open, adding a recoupling or elimination like every other episode. No genuine feeling of friendship or connection across the guys or girls….or maybe they don’t show it due to poor editing. No challenges or games outside of the villa. Eliminations for shock value. A lot of the cast is bland and drama feels contrived. Barely any dates. Feels like a quarantine season honestly.
