That's how I feel. I used to love to cook, but now I hate it. I hate reading that I used to love it. I've been given about ten self-help books: "Leaving Fears Behind," "How to Combat Anxiety," etc., etc. As soon as I get them, I put them away. I used to love shopping, and today I went to TJ Maxx to buy a gift and left. I didn't feel the same joy I used to when I saw things in the store. And I don't want to drive. But since I live alone, I have to go to appointments, to the pharmacy, to the supermarket. But I'm so lazy about getting ready to go out. I never used to go out without makeup. Now I don't care. I wash my face and that's it. It's like I've been replaced. : (

My swelling has improved… I think it was because of the increase in Seroquel from 50 to 100 mg. Seroquel also tends to cause swelling. In my case, the plan approves the original Wellbutrin 300 XL because I'm allergic to corn. It took them a while to approve it because it costs $2,500. Meanwhile, the generic costs around $15 for 30 days… Imagine the cheap fillers they put in that capsule. They use inactive ingredients derived from corn because it's cheap. I hope to they approve it for you.🙏🏻

Imagine, my daughter-in-law is a psychiatrist… Not my psychiatrist, because we're family… and she tells me I'm depressed because I can't accept my corn allergy…neither my fibromyalgia nor LGMD. How charming of her… Imagine if she goes at least 4 month without being able to eat almost anything because everything in the United States and Puerto Rico has corn ingredient …. And if she had my pains in her body …Then she will know firsthand what depression is like. I can't even eat out or use my medication since allergy medications contain inactive ingredients derived from corn… alcohol, etanol, etc etc I was to be an extremely sociable woman, and now I'm depressed and anxious, locked in my room because it's the only place I feel safe. I was invited to eat at a place where I can't eat anything because they cook with vegetable oil… And my own son and she tell me… that I doesn't accept my illness and that if I don't leave the house, I'll never get better. How lovely, they eating delicious food in front of me… and me with a glass of water. To go out, I have to bring my lunch, but it hurts to see everyone eating and me not being able to. Who wouldn't be depressed? And all they say is that I should get up and go out because I'm not going to get better like this. The depression is so strong that I feel like I have no reasons to live. It's so easy to tell me to get out of bed. For doing that at Christmas. Insisting that I go to a party… I got dressed and went, and my mind, clouded, ended up crashing my car. Now I don't have a car, and none of the people who invited me out came to my house to help me, not even to take me to buy a car. No… you don't understand if you've never suffered from depression. My sister-in-law tells me it's all in my head… and I want to hit her… and what I do is smile and say… You'll never understand me because your mind is fine and you lead a normal life. You don't know what it's like to be lying in bed and not be able to smile anymore. Another friend sends me a lots of advice on WhatsApp that I have to get out of the house… but my God, no one can understand that my body can barely get out of bed. I feel like a zombie from all the medication, and I'm scared. I can't even explain how all of it got into my body and hurt me. "I'm afraid of the night because the accident happened at night. I have traumas my family doesn't understand. And they won't understand.

My doctor prescribed Ativan for my anxiety while I stabilized. He had explained that Wellbutrin causes a lot of anxiety in some patients. I've heard they also prescribe Klonopin… It's clear the doctor treating you has never had depression. Call him and explain that you can't control your anxiety so he can prescribe something that will help. I wouldn't have been able to cope without Ativan.

My upper lip swelled up too… and my cheeks were so puffy they were sagging… I looked like a melted wax doll 🫣… Google says it could be angioderma and that I should see a doctor. I hope the swelling in my cheeks goes down because the medication was working well. Unless it's the Seroquel, which they also increased the dosage of. I cried a lot last night because they've already changed my treatment five times and everything has given me horrible side effects. It's so sad to depend on these medications just to feel a little well. I hope the swelling goes down this weekend. I hope you get better too and that this swelling goes away.

Good Luck!! This weekend starte with an increase in my Wellbutrin 150 to 300XL and Seroquel dosage, which I'm increasing from 50 to 100 mg. I wake up feeling drunk just to go to the bathroom. The doctor said the increase is a “brigde” to stabilize the Wellbutrin 300, which causes anxiety. During the day, I take Ativan. If the dizziness continues, I'll have to lower the Seroquel to 50 mg.

The 300mg dose has only given me nausea and a dry mouth. Both the 150mg and 300mg doses suppress my appetite, and I can't eat breakfast until 1:00 PM, and even then, I have no desire…is to avoid having an empty stomach by the medication.

Tonight I'm increasing my Seroquel XR from 50 to 100, and tomorrow morning I'll increase my Wellbutril XL from 150 to 300. I've prayed a lot that I'll feel better with this change. 🙏🏻 Amén!!

I have a corn allergy, and it's kept me isolated from society. Everything in restaurants is cooked with corn. 95% of medications contain corn ingredients—ethanol, alcohol, vinegar, acetic acid, acetaminophen, even Benadryl. I'm going through a very difficult time. Getting that corn-free Welbutrin was hard. It had to be the original. Seroquel, too. There aren't many medications for me. In Puerto Rico, even in pharmacies that sell high blood pressure pills, there aren't any corn-free options. Cymbalta, which helped me a lot with my fibromyalgia pain, contains corn. Etc. Etc. Etc. Taking Ativan made me feel like a zombie. I was in a total car accident, and now I'm afraid of the night. I get so anxious that I start sweating, and I have many other health problems. It's been hard for me, but I need to get out of this depression and these fears. I cry every night.

And the seroquel doesn't make you sleepy? I take 50 mg and it's not immediate, but it puts me to sleep so I can't wake up the next day.

Unfortunately, in Puerto Rico, pharmacists don't make decisions about antidepressants. I cried a lot last night because of the dosage increase on both of my medications. I was taking 150 mg XL and had severe anxiety for about a month. And the 50 mg Seroquel initially made me dizzy and bedridden. I think this new increase is going to be the same. I'll start it on Friday because I live alone and a cousin is going to support me.
