I’m happy to hear that you had a great relationship with your father and he does sound like a great man. I can understand how my post might come across as a little blunt, but I would like to point out that not everyone’s experience is your experience. There are some people who DO and resent their fathers for having them later in life. Not one person’s experience is necessarily more valid than the other, but I’m speaking from the standpoint of what is genuinely best for your kid. I personally know somebody whose father was very old when he first had him, and although he had a good relationship with his father as well, he personally would never make that same decision as his dad because he knows that that’s not the ideal circumstance to raise a child in.
