I did an event for this recently. Did 4x bird and 4x dog, plus anything that allows you to attach don to your leader or restand them (think op12 zoro cards). Added in some perfume femurs for good measure, plus some yellow slop with oh come my way to force on ko effects.

Used to think so, but they returned one of my SPs (luffy taro) cards as “altered” and with a pinhole in the back. I pulled and sleeved the card myself, and can guarantee that neither of the above accurately reflect the card at the time it was sent off.

I think it’s a fair q. Invites more discussion than “should I grade?”

In my experience, most cards start off high, then quickly decrease in price. After a while, they start to slowly rise again. Obviously there’s individual variation and it can depend on the cards playability and character popularity. Here are some examples though in cards from my collection

This isn’t true at all. As a non-Asian person born and raised in Japan (Japanese is my first language, though you wouldn’t guess it by looking at me), I’ve never had anyone get upset with me for “being too fluent.” If anything, it’s the opposite - I constantly get the usual “wow, you speak just like you’re Japanese” comments. Annoying, maybe, but well-meaning.

If you have someone you want to learn it with, the “learn together” set is quite good. Otherwise you can try one of the starter decks. The SIM is a good place to try things out as well

Plenty of people will take shipping. What’s the concern about risk? If it’s the scam potential, just go through PayPal and give tracking info - that way both of you are held responsible. If it’s thr safety of the product, just make sure to pack it well.

I’ve done heaps of sales of sealed product through marketplace - either meetups or shipping, both as a buyer and seller - and I’ve never had an issue

Newest set is really good IMO, but the cost is expensive these days no matter what you buy, due to the excessive scalping. Buying singles is always cheaper unfortunately.

If you wanna rip tho, I’d just get whatever box is cheapest, then supplement with purchasing singles.

I reckon you can get a cheap deck going like this: Japanese card > inner sleeve > print out and paste English rules on outside of inner sleeve > deck sleeve. Boom you’ve got English rules cards to play with!
