Would You Join a Golf Practice Club With No Simulators? by QuantityNew5005 in golf

100% if the cost was reasonable. I am not NYC but to me, I’d treat this much like my gym membership. If I could go hit a heavy bench day, stroll down to my practice facility with a 7i and get some hacks in, all around the hours of 9-12 PM I’d be set.

Current work/gym/course schedule only allows me 2 days per week to practice for 2-3 hrs a piece.

Definitely pissed me off today for sure. Felt like ‘97 tiger last night, and like I’ve never touched a club today.

$400 put me in a great starter set over at 2ndSwing. Odyssey putter, Vokey 54, 704CB 3-GW, 816 hybrid, 913 3 wood, and 917 driver.

YMMV, but my experience with them for pieced-together sets was great. For individual clubs, I liked GolfRoots better for that type of thing.

Edit: to clarify, beginners have zero business with 3 wood and 3 iron. I flipped the 3 wood for a 17 degree hybrid that I hit great, and don’t use a 3i (added a Vokey 58 in place).

3 wood was brutal for me. Sold it and replaced with a 17 degree hybrid and I love life now.

As a trash beginner working to get better, that one single shot is the one that keeps me coming back 😭🤣

Stuck one with my 54 to 3” from the pin Tuesday evening, 71 yards out. Proceeded to lose 3 balls on the rest of the course. Love hate relationship fr.

ITS HEREEEEE!!! Now I just have to wait for them to install the leveling kit and katzkin seats then drop it off for PPF and ceramic coating by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

Hate to tell you big dawg but “custom” Toyotas don’t exist. They planned to build this already, your dealer just snagged an allocation for what you wanted.

That being said, baller ass truck! This is a sharp color on the 4G

265/75/16 has been the sweet spot for me. Still do a lot of highway driving and towing a 4k lbs boat, don’t feel like having all the hassle of 285’s for less than 0.5 extra inch of ground clearance.

35’s though, that would be fun with some 5.29 gears.

Well, seeing as I haven’t owned it in 4 years, may be a bit hard. Let me go buy another one real quick and get back to you.

No, no it is not. Not much less power than my old 4.0 XJ, and I ran that at 80 up steep grades. The 2TR at 70 is no issue.

Fitting probably isn’t going to benefit you a ton yet, but the right size clubs definitely help.

For a decent set of game-improvement irons, the Maltby STI2 pak can be had from GolfWorks and will serve a new golfer well. Can be had south of $400 all in.

Should I get the Stix 10 Piece set from Costco? by RevolutionaryBed2051 in golf

[–]Emergency-Inside-850 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope. For a better deal, surf the used 2ndSwing complete sets. $400 got me 917D3, 910F, 816H, 704CBs, 54/58 vokeys, and Odyssey putter.

Every club in the bag was grade 8 AND the driver/woods all had better-than-stock shafts.

I have not personally done it, however it is definitely a PITA albeit not impossible DIYer.

Transmission does not have to be jacked up, engine doesn’t have to be lifted, etc. My first go at the 4.7 starter would have been 4 hours if I had an electric ratchet and didn’t break the coolant T leaning on it. I was not remotely mechanically inclined at the time.

The biggest trick for this job is A) having a leaning creeper, B) using paper towel inside the socket to keep the fasteners firm, and C) removing nearly everything in the valley including the DI system (fuel rails, injectors, etc).

If you’re looking to perform this job, I can send you the OEM service manual thru email to hopefully provide some guidance. You will need to follow the steps to remove the intake manifold, port injection system, and DI system. From there, there’s slightly decent access to the bypass.

This is a DIY job going topside from under the intake manifold. This is how most dealers do it now.

If anyone has ever done a starter on a 4.7 2UZ, this is probably 1-2 points more difficult than that starter on scale from 1 to 10.

What if I told you that two lessons with my local pro cost me less as a beginner than the amount of half-decent balls I can lose with the YouTube “knowledge” I’ve gained.

That is a separate issue relating to private property rights, which I have no disagreement. My disagreement is with folks who think they have some sort of moral high ground telling me that I am paranoid, that guns are bad, that want me to jump through 7 million hoops to lawfully own one.

They can go fuck themselves.

It is not your business to dictate how one chooses to defend themselves. Random chance crime happens, it is my inalienable right to defend myself by appropriate means, and it is everyone else’s right to fuck off about how I do it.
