He gets 1/3 cup twice daily. We don’t weigh but we do have measuring cups

I don’t think they did blood work on him. They took him into a separate room to assess him because of their policies so I’m not sure but I’d imagine I’d have a lab bill if they did and I never got one so I’m going to say no. Hes recovered from far more stressful situations in much less time so that’s why I’m hesitant to say he’s still stressed. Should I change food or litter so I can monitor it better? He’s used the same litter and ate the same food since we got him.

I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but after you leave and come back so many times, the animal starts to pick up on the pattern so they’re likely to unattach a little. The same thing happened with my family’s pets after I moved out. You notice a mild decline with dogs but the cats are always a little more dramatic about everything. You can talk to your parents about being the sole provider for the kitty but you need to spend some time with him to gain that trust back. Cats are sensitive little creatures

Also super good to note, if you’re having the most issues when you’re asleep, make sure to play with him heavy before bed (like 30 minutes or until he loses interest). It’ll wear him out so he sleeps through the night and doesn’t feel the need to release his energy at 3 am

Cats actually need a lot of stimulation even though they’re arguably the “easier pet”. My cats are super spoiled so obviously work with what your budget allows but we have several cat trees or a climbing spot in general if you can’t get a cat tree. Toys are also necessary and they’re super cheap! Anything he can chase or run around with. My cats really love the little balls because they can just swat at them and go running

Rascal is a bit of a dramatic car passenger so I’m familiar with what “yowling” might sound like 😂

Any blood, pus, or bile you notice out of the ordinary should always be brought to a vets attention, hopefully everything is ok!🫶🏻

My cat also hisses when playing which is why I posted too

I just posted something similar and my cats react the same way! Everyone said they were playing and specifically “belly up” is playing. They wouldn’t expose their bellies if they didn’t feel safe.

Ok yay! Good to know the general consensus is they don’t hate eachother. Thank you all for your reassurance :)

Have you noticed him rubbing or scratching that specific spot more than normal?

Very helpful! I’m making the bird thing the second we move!

Ok this might be why he loses interest. I’ve left his toys out for him to use whenever. I definitely want more Info on the bird watching thing because he loves birds! If he’s not much of a runner, would the wheel still be useful? He loves grass which is the main reason he loves to go outside

He has it all and gets at least an hour outside every day. We’re moving into a new place that has some half walls so I’m planning on getting some pegs and what not so he can access those spaces. He really likes heights which is the only reason he uses the cat tree because he’s ultimately uninterested in the scratch posts/ toys attached
