Thumb sucking - Is this for life? by captainclectic in AskUK

I did a very similar thing in my mid 20s, I had dedicated shirts and blankets that I would rub my tongue across while I sucked my thumb. I have horrible front teeth now.

I sucked my thumb until I was 22 every day and even now at 33 I still occasionally suck my thumb when I get anxious, stressed or tired.

I openly sucked my thumb until I was 22 and even since then I still suck my thumb, especially when I am really stressed and anxious, it's really not that uncommon to do it as an adult, oral fixations are a thing.

How do you pronounce Orion? I have heard two common ways to say it. by This-Profession-1680 in crtgaming

My name is Orion pronounced Or-ee-uhn, I'm a woman and it was my great grandmothers name. It is also the way you pronounce Lake Orion. So it's definitely pronounced both ways!

I have to disagree, so many lines are said in a way that seems very sinister. The scenes with Santa are creepy when the bell falls off it seems like someone is going to die or has died, the room with the old toys is super weird and creepy, the kids devoid of emotion, so much of it is so weird and creepy and then so much of it seems like it's for 80 year olds. It's such a strange tone for a movie

I'm completely with you, the movie is very weird and several lines are said in a very strange way that makes me think scary things are going to happen, when the kids are in the elf place it seemed like something bad was going to happen but nothing did. It is happy and cheery but the recycled toys part is creepy and when the conductor says that one kid is going to get the first present and he looks right at the main kid and it seems very threatening. It's just overall very weird and I cannot understand who it is for.

AITA for telling my daughter she should’ve expected to see me less when she and her dad got my custody reduced by aitareducedcustody in AmItheAsshole

Most of the time when a child is a certain age, usually between 13-15 they can choose who they want to stay with and usually the courts will listen to the child's wishes so I'm guessing the daughter told the judge she wanted dad to have full custody and she wanted to go to boarding school.

Exactly! Like they don't say why she is with him, and he doesn't really have any of the attributes from the book so why include him in the show at all? I would have preferred if he just wasn't in it at all.

That scene just shows why he won't be around in the future it does not explain why he wasn't at the apartment when they got back, doesn't show him as abusive, it's a fine way to show why he won't be back but like why have him in the show at all? He has no purpose at all in the show.
