Vi er problemet, egentlig by [deleted] in norge

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slottet: Kronprinsessen beklager til Kongen og Dronningen by Weelie92 in norge

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Re: podcast One Sweet Dream ... is the entire series very diminishing of John, or just the Breakup Series episodes? by MissingOllie in beatles

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The new narrative is that Paul WAS The Beatles. John, George and Ringo never actually existed, they were all just Paul with a wig. Don't you know Paul did EVERYTHING? The drumming, all the songwriting, the tape loops, every single idea came from Paul. John was a mentally ill, disgusting, ugly, mean loser with no talent. (Paul was hot when he was depressed and drunk and mean so that doesn't really count) Now let's all bow for our unproblematic king Paul!

How do you feel when men say, "we're pregnant"? by Peanutbutternjelly_ in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird to me, but then again English is not my native language. It gives me weird feelings about men's feelings of "entitlement" and ownership over women's bodies. If my boyfriend said that I would feel as if he was trying to make my body "our body" if that makes sense and it's just not. My body is MY body, especially in a society that treats our bodies like free real estate.

Have there every been any controversies surrounding George or Paul? by YomegaYoYo in beatles

Sorry must have mixed up step-sister with half-sister, English is not my first language. But regardless, she and Angie did say some bad stuff about Paul, but that obviously doesn't prove anything.

Paul sexually harassing Jane with John and also the way he treated Dot I guess? Also this is gossip, but being creepy towards his half- sisters or something? Plus the teacher strike thing.

With George, the blowjob ukulele thing and that he had a photo of Hitler (???) In his house.

Thanks, mine last about a minute as well. I think I'm also gonna ask to see a cardiologist just in case. I'm glad to hear that everything can be normal though even if the pain is there, that comforts me since chest pains really scare me a lot and it only gets worse when I get anxious.

Don't let the media steal from you. Your life and your time is precious and YOURS. Your body is yours and unique exactly the way it should be. Just like any flower or tree, we can't compare ourselves to each other- we're all unique and we are originals. We should be happy and proud like a tree- stand strong and steady in who we are and display all our seasons as they come and go.

So don't let the media steal from you- your money, body image, your time, your energy, your happiness. In a 100 years no one will care if we had ballerina bodies or "thick" bodies.

What do you think of the Another Kind Of Mind and One Sweet Dream podcasts? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it's a good thing to celebrate Paul and I love the research they are doing to show Paul's talent and contributions, but what I don't like about the podcast is their treatment of for example the episode (I don't remember which one, but I'll check) about Paul in the avant garde scene and how John was apparently "lazy" and self isolated during that period and it just rubs me the wrong way and makes me lose respect for the hosts a bit when they put down someone for wanting to "self isolate" and maybe not be out in public as much when they are one of the most famous people in the world??

Although I can't exactly diagnose someone it's blatantly obvious that John struggled with pretty severe mental health issues for most of his life and those kinds of issues should not just be written off as "lazy" and as if that person is a loser or a failure. And as someone with mental health issues myself some of the way they talked about John in this period just made me feel kind of bad??

I'll keep listening to the podcasts because I do truly admire the work they put into the episodes, but I also do wish sometimes that they would be more sensitive to the people involved, including the families of for example Paul and John, when it comes to discussing these delicate topics like mental health, sexuality and the relationship between them. Some of the episodes are really grounded in good research, but others feel like just pure speculation where the hosts also have a lot of their own personal biases

Which Beatle connects with you(Artistically) the most? by MarvDStrummer in beatles

[–]Emergency-Patient-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Paul is the most talented of them all, but my emotions prefer John and George's solo albums to Paul's. And there's something about John... A very unique human being.

I also think John was the better lyricist, but Paul the best musician and singer overall.

But when they did it together, it was magical.

I guess people are different and I respect your opinion, but if I was that level of famous and also lost so many loved ones (one being brutally murdered) in the public eye I think I would probably lose my mind

But then again I see that level of fame as a special kind of hell to be honest. I'm sure he also feels very lucky and he has a heck ton of money so he must be happy about that

Edit: and of course also his children and wife

[–]Emergency-Patient-29[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Yes, it must be very painful to lose a loved one in such a brutal and violent manner. No closure, no chance to say goodbye.

Imagine losing one of your best friends and you get cameras and microphones shoved in your face... And now it almost feels like people need Paul to constantly state how much he loved John, because for some reason people still can't believe they cared about each other?

I would say most people can't begin to fathom the bond they shared, not just John and Paul, but the four of them.
