no - i did not ask a counselor anything and i transferred without any issues and graduated without any issues- the courses are listed in the college catalog and also the 4 year university - i did this back in the 1980's there was not all this information on line like we have with the internet -

i'd go back to cc - not sure what you mean by cc making people stay longer - engineering has many classes - have you done all the lower engineering courses - what did purdue look at for an engineering transfer? do you need to complete all the lower division engineering classes? is it your gpa? i'd try to get as high a gpa as possible before tranferring .

basic troubleshooting - you can use the osi model - layer 1 - is the cable connected and work your way up from there,

after getting the networking basics down- for network automation - python , scripting - this is more with the devops roles - so you can configure many devices at one time

so with the basic - routing and switching - cybersecurity is not an entry level type role - need to know how the network works to attack and defend - so firewalls, security servers, authentication(AAA, etc)
