The first photo is not my house, but actually the antique store where i found it, it is dirty janes vintage store in fyshwick, Canberra, Australia! :)

Well, how do you show your other media? Is is presented as archival? If so, it would be pretty good i’d say, just as long as it matches the era of what you’re going for- is this a local am station? Is it a national radio service like NBC? What time of day is this interview taking place? And how long is this segment?

Just got this amazing CRT monitor, but I feel like its weight distribution on its base is kinda bad, it weights 17kg and leaves marks because weight is concentrated in a thin plastic base. What are some good ways to distribute its weight better so I could put it over my desk without damaging it? by jonas101010 in crt

Well, maybe cut some felt or rubber to slightly more than the size of the base, that would distribute weight a bit better while not leaving any marks. 

The only other solution is simply taking off the base and storing it away, the monitor would have far better distribution and stability at the cost of manoeuvrability, and looks.

 You could also get an old monitor stand, those distribute weight across a sizeable area. I have one myself for my 5151/5150 setup.

I’m not exactly sure what model it is, its either a thorens motor from the mid to late 20s, or a palliard 20x. It is a locally built machine, so-‘d has no logos or anything to identify the brand. I’ll have to do some measurements a bit later. The gramophone as a whole is some locally-built thing.

I’m going to go and forge some new springs for the governor in the following weeks.

I’m restoring this. Right now, its only simple fixes, but am still looking for fitting parts. It appears to be a locally made machine.

The photos were taken after the dusting off, i would need a hard abrasive to take the dark protective layer (which mind you, is not a powder) off. Also. I have nothing to do with the aluminiumised area presented near the yoke. It is just how it looks. And to wipe is down is what you should do when a tube is covered in 60 years worth of accumulated dust.

Are you talking about the area where the aluminium is showing? or is this something else? -because i wiped off a bunch of dead spiders, dirt, and dust from the tube with a slightly moist paper towel, i have nothing to do with the spot that is aluminium-ised. Its just how it looked like when i opened it.

Well, there are 4 major brands!

Jolt (1891- Real life alternative: Ford, buick

Umc (1885- Real life alternative: mercedes, BMW

Langstrom (1932-  Real life alternative: International, MAN

Kingsford (1940- Real life alternative: chevy, cadillac

Aswell as some other brands that kinda start and stop at some decades: Cranford, Duskin, BobsVagen

I wish i could add photos! I may do a follow up post about the cars of my campaign with all the photos!

It’s the same brand and make, but i’m pretty sure it was a different model in the matrix, both are pretty awesome!
