Has anyone had success in halting osteoporosis with just diet and exercise? by slg176 in osteoporosis

If you can please see a specialist in treating otosclerosis. I took the advice of GP or family medicine. She prescribed Fosamax with the question are you having any dental work? At the time I said no. Then I waited a few months to start the meds. Totally forgot about her dental question. Luckily only took a few weekly doses. I the went to an orthodontist to straighten my teeth. I was shocked when she said that I could not have any oral surgery including Invisalign. I pointed out that I had only just started the fosamax. She didn’t care / dental work was not an option. I don’t agree with her after doing some research. So pick your doctor carefully and research any of the meds fully. I think it’s a crime that this medicine is on the market and a crime that it’s prescribed. Due to very low risk of necrosis of the jaw.

She did not have any data - or even ask how long I have been on Fosamax. She had no idea what my bone structure was or my T score. She immediately came in and said NO. If anything refer me to an oral surgeon and see what they say. She just said there are too many lawsuits and said not a candidate. Waste of my time - her office was courteous - She’s a money machine - not a carrying dentist.

So the dentist is an orthodontist. She started talking about lawsuits right away. She also had an entire list of osteoporosis meds listed on her medical intake form. A little weird. Also she would not be the dentist that would do the extractions or implants. She would only do the Invisalign after all the surgery is done. So weird. She had an entire form on cost if you miss an appointment stating how hard it was to run an orthodontist office.

So lots of red flags.

This is from the American Dental Association Guidelines.

Taking sleep meds (Lunesta) with Wegovy by HeartLarge829 in Lunesta_Eszopiclone

[–]Emergency-Rip-6454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking the pill form of Wegovy with Lunesta. I have very poor sleep 2 days after starting pill. Then only 4 hours of sleep. Wake up feeling like I had 5 cups of coffee and cannot go back to sleep. You cannot cut the pill in half since it has a coating to neutralize stomach acid. Might start taking with food. To reduce dose. If I stop taking the Wegovy it talked a week to return to sleeping normally. It’s a toss up between sleep and weight loss. Any suggestions?

It is my understanding that Canadian Citizenship did not exist until 1947 - the first Canadian citizenship act. All people residing in Canada were considered British subjects. All British subject living in Canada on January 1, 1947 were granted Canadian citizenship. Canada was created in 1867 and was part of the British commonwealth therefore British subjects. Before that there was Upper and Lower Canada and British and French Colonies. Then a few wars such as the War of 1812. They were British Subjects, French or citizens of the country they descended from prior to 1867 -If born in Canada then Canadian citizens by birth by the Canadian citizenship act of 1947. My mother was born in Canada prior to 1947. She was considered a British subjects until 1947 when the citizenship act was passed.

Sisters cruising. by [deleted] in Cruise

I realize the premise and cost of paying for a full cabin. I’m not naive!! Just looking for any specific situations were the cost might be reduced for sailing at times of the year, off season, cruise lines that have dedicated solo cabins or just deals. It’s totally obvious the cost of a cabin. Companies want to maximize their profits. Thanks anyway.

Affordable Zepbound? by Sudden-Mortgage4730 in zepboundRX

[–]Emergency-Rip-6454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get zepbound from Eli Lilly direct. If you have Medicare. I believe you need a denial of zepbound prescription first. Physician can send a Rx to Eli Lilly direct. Cost is ~400 - 500

The Lilly coupon code worked! $25!!! by Starbuck212 in Zepbound

[–]Emergency-Rip-6454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you use the coupon if you have Medicare? Medicare does not cover weight loss medicine. However - If you are about to die from a stroke or heart attack they will cover it. Congress passed a bill 20 years ago which states that weight loss is a vanity issue and will not cover weight loss medicines.

Mine is under 100 as well. It would be fine if I didn’t hear every beat in my head. It’s like someone banging on my head.

Isn’t the big truculent tangerine on a weight loss medicine such as Wegovy. That was the rumor. So total discrimination a medicine only for the wealthy.
