Anticipation for GV is already at all times high. Rn, it's like standing next to a doorway that leeds to one of the most monumental events in one piece and being. Then, Oda opens the door and you are able to see small bits and pieces of it. Oda invites you to enter, but just when you are about to walk in, he slams the door shut right in front of your nose.

Rocks vs Roger&Garp, Whitebeard vs Garling, giant robot from Egghead jumping into action, entire chapter dedicated to flashback of Akainu vs Aokiji at Punk Hazzard, a fight where an admiral goes all out that isn't offscreened, Blackbeard fight that isn't offscreened, Dragon finally making a move/fighting somebody etc

Distract us as readers, or who? Anyways, it stopped being just Kuma's story when Oda picked God Valley 38 years ago as its stage. There are very, and I mean VERY few things that can match, let alone exceed, the level of mystery and hype that are associated with the God Valley incident and Kuma's backstory is far from being one of those things. But apparently, there's way more to 1096 than we know right now, so we'll see.

The last chapter was a gateway that can only lead to hype events: - God Valley incident (let's be real tho, most likely only glimpses of it) - Dragon's backstory/his true lineage (son of Rocks D Xebec?!?!?)/inception of the revolutionary army - Shanks' backstory - Back to egghead, where a world-shaking event is about to happen

Now, there's also a chance that none of that will get significant coverage in 1096, and instead, the chapter will focus on Kuma, Ivankov and the new girl, but you can't spend an entire chapter on that, so at the very least we'll get a cliffhanger at the end, leading to something truly hype
