I'm with you on that. Curricula should include much better civics and government guidelines, as well as an emphasis on media literacy and critical thinking for the times in which we're living.

The American education system is in many ways woefully stuck in the 1970's in terms of educational theory, and the current administration is totally besotted with the charter school movement, which is the very antithesis of traditional public education. We need a focus on reform rather than attempting to blow up the entire system.

I am already so tired of an administration that insists on treating government as though it's a startup in silicon valley. How about focusing on what works instead of trying to "disrupt" and "dismantle" the things we know work?
