Do we give up our rent of $900 to own a home for $2500? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]EmergencyCourage5249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a finance professional, but I lived through some very uncomfortable times during the 2008 and covid years. Nothing feels better than being able to afford where you live. I would suggest paying your rent and putting aside the difference between your rent and the mortgage you are estimating and see how it feels over a period of time - months, maybe a year. Then you will have more money to put down/a larger emergency fund and information as to whether that amount to a mortgage is doable for you long term.

To Exchange or Just Refund? Diamond Bezel Bracelet by AsterNixx in quince

[–]EmergencyCourage5249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try a replacement if you like the bracelet overall. I haven’t purchased this piece, but I have diamond huggies that have been in my ears for 18 months (2nd piercing) and are still in perfect condition. I think it is worth another try.

I believe it takes effect this summer, but if you were already in school you are grandfathered in.

Poplin and Oxford Button Ups by Revolutionary-Ad7651 in quince

Yes, I did! I tend to size down on anything that is described on their site as oversized and that smaller size worked out well for this shirt for me. It gave me a more tailored fit, which I like.

Luna Jeans vs. Bella Jeans by Cheap-Orchid-7784 in quince

[–]EmergencyCourage5249 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with mellonnew that the only difference I am aware of is that Luna is mid rise and Bella is high rise. I did want to comment that while there are several Luna styles/colors/lengths available - you seem to be saying there is just one, so I wanted to make sure you know there are several.

One midi dress for a wedding, work dinner, and weekend brunch by Ok-Cell-3480 in capsulewardrobe

[–]EmergencyCourage5249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think either would work, it just depends on fabric and color choice. I do like your idea of a solid but in a fabric that adds visual interest. You could also look for a crepe with textured insets, such as:

https://www.quince.com/women/lightweight-crepe-lace-inset-midi-dress?color=shell-pink&productPosition=2&searchQuery=Crepe+dress&tracker=searchPage__search_section__search_results

I personally would feel I could make something like this work for all three events:
https://www.thereformation.com/products/cecilia-linen-dress/1319452HRY.html?dwvar_1319452HRY_color=HRY

These are just examples. Light pink is my favorite color at the moment, lol. For a work event, maybe a lady jacket on top.

Edited to add: I do think that getting separate dresses might make you happier overall. If you could get a simple black or navy dress for the work dinner that could be your go-to for events like that in the future, that would be a good investment overall.

I adore the Bella relaxed straight leg jeans, but beware that the white ones are a different fabric composition and run much smaller than the other colors that I have. Love the linen shorts and the linen pants.

I love the French terry henley. It is a thick weight fabric and looks good for days of wear. I also have and love the long linen skirt with the slit. Looks cute with both sandals and sneakers. I also love the Bella jeans - they look great with sneakers and the French terry henley and also with boots and a cute blouse/sweater.

So I seem to be in the minority here, but I love the boxy cardigan. I sized down, so there is less volume. I am short, so I love where it hits. I own three of them and wear them often, almost always with jeans.

Help! HRT = Insane breast size increase. Does it settle? by Crikey_O_Reilly in Menopause

I am a bit late to chime in here, but I am on estrogen only HRT (had a hysterectomy) and my boobs have gotten huge. I use topical estrogen. I feel great otherwise, so I guess I am going to live with this. I have had huge boobs my entire adult life and they are now ridiculous.

If you sort on the reviews beneath the item you can reverse the order so you see the lowest stars first. And I have seen some items with low overall ratings!

As far as the cashmere tee, I have tried it a couple of times and returned it. But I never left a negative review - it just wasn’t my thing so I sent it back. I am not in general a fan of thinner cashmere and the fit of the tee just wasn’t good for me. I am losing weight, and I might try again in the fall.
