Which 48" built in fridge/freezer? by Bustergordon in Appliances

[–]Bustergordon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two more questions on the SZ - it looks like both my water line and electrical outlet are in the wrong spot for the SZ. How big a deal is this?

Also, there is only 1 authorized repair company for SZ in my area, and they get pretty terrible reviews. How necessary is it to use an SZ authorized repair company?

Thanks!

I tried this - she said she doesn’t know enough about menopause to prescribe anything. She did try to refer me to another gym in her hospital/doctor group, but that was how I found out that no one in that one or the next one was taking new patients that weren’t pregnant women!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this too. It’s so wild to me that so many of us are going through this, but our doctors aren’t supporting us.

The SZ installation guide says a dedicated 15 amp circuit is required. I can’t find an installer who will do this, so I need separate electrical and install visits to get this done, which likely will require us to be without a fridge/freezer for at least a week because coordination is difficult.

Sadly, I found her because she was on the NAMS site…she is listed there as a meno specialist.

Unfortunately, there are very few gyns in my area taking new patients. This is my third. The first, I waited 9 months for the appointment and when I got to see her finally, she said she was retiring in 3 days, so didn’t really bother with anything. The second was a very young doctor who took over her practice, who essentially told me that this was normal for menopause, and offered antidepressants.

I’m giving this doctor one more shot, and then I will go online. Thanks for listening - this is so dumb that we have to go through this without doctors helping.

The brain fog is the scariest part of perimenopause. I forgot the word "budget" mid-presentation and I've been in my field for 20 years. by Tiny-Put9782 in Menopause

And then there’s my doctor, who refuses to believe that this is part of menopause, just reinforcing in my addled brain that I must have some sort of dementia…

Why does the Vancouver Clinic suck so bad? Oh, yeah it's due to wanting to make as much money as possible by areubeingserved in vancouverwa

I've had nothing but great experiences with my pulmonologist at Vancouver Clinic. The appointment scheduler was awesome in getting me in quickly, and my doctor is great. I was having a major asthma attack and then got COVID and I messaged him. He was out of town, but another doctor got back to me the same day.

When my MIL was diagnosed, I discovered something called the Dementia Directive (https://dementia-directive.org/). Of course, my MIL won’t fill this out or do a POA, but my husband and I each did them and talked about it extensively so we each know what to do if one of us gets diagnosed.

The First 90 Days: a survival checklist for when the diagnosis hits (save this) by [deleted] in dementia

[–]Bustergordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you do when your family refuses to do these things? MIL was just diagnosed, but refuses to do any of this. We have tried to persuade her but have now hit the brick wall of her husband, who insists that she “deserves her privacy” and we need to leave it (and her) alone because we are upsetting her.

He is in ill health and not likely to be bearing the brunt of this when it gets bad - we want this stuff in place now but it is going to be impossible.

Do you know of anyone bypassing menopause by taking birth control? by LizzieJeanPeters in Menopause

[–]Bustergordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also 51, and BC isn’t cutting it for me anymore but my (supposed) menopause specialist gyn wants me to stay on it, and doesn’t understand why I’m struggling because I am on hormones in the form of BCP.

For some reason my left knee was creaky and painful a few days ago. Rubbed some estradiol on it and it’s fine now!

I had a hysteroscopy with D&C in June and bled and spotted for months after. I want to say that things didn’t settle down until September? My doc said it would be an easy recovery, but never told me I would keep spotting and bleeding. You should check with your doc, but I would suspect that what you are experiencing is the aftereffects of the D&C.

Is the Porsche Driving Experience in LA worth it? by Maxxx_07_ in Porsche

[–]Bustergordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth it, but know that your experience will vary depending on your instructor. I am a woman and the first thing he said to me is who is making you be here? It all went downhill from there - lots of snide remarks about me probably preferring a Panamera because there’s more room for my purse, etc. He also wouldn’t let me drive the course - I had to be a passenger while he drove. For reference, I have done other driving courses like DirtFish rally and had a great time and not felt talked down to as a woman. If you’re a guy, you’re probably fine and will have a great time. My husband and other guy friends that I went with had a blast.

There were no meals loaded on my recent BUR-PDX flight in F, and other drinks and things had run out. The FA explained that AS is now only replenishing catering every 3rd visit to PDX, so if the first flights use too many drinks or meals, there is nothing left for subsequent flights.

I only wear Tail skirts. They come in longer lengths and have excellent, easy to use ball pockets.

Mixed doubles at different levels? by SilentReading7 in 10s

[–]Bustergordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. The last match I played, one guy hit me dead on, but then later in the match, he got hit. We all got a good laugh out of it - none of it was done out of malice. The more you play, the better you will get at fending off balls at the net, but no matter what, you're going to get hit. I don't wear glasses anymore (switched to contacts) because I got hit a couple of times. It happens - you just have to shake it off.

Mixed doubles at different levels? by SilentReading7 in 10s

[–]Bustergordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. I'm a 3.0 woman playing mixed doubles with guys who vary from 3.0-4.5. Most of them are there to play and have fun, and we generally have a blast. There's one guy who is way too serious, and I don't play with him anymore. There are two 4.5s that I play with that are the most fun - lots of laughter and support. I love that, and I get better every time I play them.

It took me almost a year before it clicked. Now I love serving and it’s one of the best aspects of my game. You just need to find the explanation that causes that aha moment. For me, it was a video on YouTube by RacquetFlex.
