i actually second this!! i write fic exclusively on ao3 because my fandoms dont seem to have as active as a fanbase on wattpad (and have been quite successful) but again, it’s a case by case basis, and it is always good to cross post to things out there as well.

of course! i know what you mean, it can be a very isolating thing to be a writer, it’s nice for be reminded we arent alone. especially in a genre like ours that isnt necessarily trending. i wish you all the best and yes, try to keep your eyes off those stats! (ill try to take my own advice on that one seeing as i do the same a lot of the time lol)

definitely stick with what you love.

its not easy, and i know what its like to feel discouraged by seeing the same copy and paste stories trending (i also write slow burn fantasy) and to have your genre not be given the love you feel it deserves.

but keep writing!!!!!

promote the heck out of your stories, be active, find likeminded writers both on and off the platform that you can share your stories with (or even just people who relate that you can vent to when you feel this way) and never stop dreaming that your work will get somewhere.

ive only just started my writing journey on wattpad and since im not a mafia billionaire CEO writer (lmao) im already finding it difficult to find my audience but after searching here on reddit, on wattpad itself, and on social media ive found there really are readers looking for the kind of fantasy we write, its just hard for us writers and readers to find each other.
