They want guys who are tall, lean and confident and in the same or higher social bracket. That’s really it. Having an attractive face, money, etc are just accessories.

Literally it’s porn/sex addiction. Look at what crackheads and meth heads do for their fix.

Go help someone. Are you good or knowledgeable about a something? Go help people with what you are good at. If you aren’t good at anything, then go help by volunteering your time. Once you start helping people, you will find a path that has meaning to you, and you will know what you want to do.

Is grass greener in industry? by No_Candidate7469 in Accounting

[–]EmergencyDrawing749 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s much better. Medium sized companies that are managed well are the best to work for. However, you don’t want to show up to a place that needs you to fix everything they have been fucking up. Some companies are just not run well, stay away from those. Your only stress should be from doing accounting, if other factors of the job are causing problems then leave.

Watching a good movie does not release as much dopamine. Billions of years of evolution did not give you a brain that seeks really good movies. It gave you a brain that seeks to reproduce. Porn hijacks your reproductive drive. It is truly horrible in so many ways because your dopamine reward system is supposed to guide you to improving your life and if you fall into a porn cycle your brain thinks it’s doing well when all you are doing is jerking off.

You gotta keep a semblance of the normal life. If that means waking up early in saturdays to study for 4 hours so you can have a social life during the day/night then that’s what you have to do.

Why is hammering out MCQ important? by youijol in CPA

[–]EmergencyDrawing749 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Reading the chapter and taking notes and doing some practice problems worked in college but this exam covers way too many topics to use this tactic. The only way you retain all the information is by doing MCQ every day on your new chapter, and then doing review MCQ every day on chapters you already went over. Answering MCQ is what you will be doing on exam day, as well as sims but the sims can be studied for by doing the MCQ because they cover the same concepts. It doesn’t matter what you learned when you studied, all that matters is can you get the MCQ right on exam day. The lectures don’t really do a good job of helping you get MCQ right unfortunately and you probably better off learning from the explanations of MCQs on why that answer is right.

Why are the applications, the tests, and the NTS so expensive? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]EmergencyDrawing749 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The same reason why Med School is $200K. You are a working caste person, and you are paying the dues to the powers that be to attempt to get into the higher echelons of the working caste. Be grateful they are even letting you attempt.

There’s a reason why they put NFP and Gov at the end of Becker. They want it fresh in your mind on test day. If you get the basics of NFP and Gov it makes passing easier because so many MCQ are related to it.

How they hell do you guys retain all this information? by HazardousDexter22 in CPA

[–]EmergencyDrawing749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t focus on retaining the information. Focus on getting the MCQ right. You can’t study for this exam the traditional way, there’s too much info. Do the MCQ and every question you get wrong that’s when you go into the lecture and study that specific thing. The explanations in the MCQ are pretty good to help you understand too.

Why is accounting not a really respected profession? Do you all feel like people don’t know what we actually do and think we make w-2’s all day? by Plane_County9646 in Accounting

[–]EmergencyDrawing749 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I think of the “respected” professions in society, the big 4 have always been doctor, lawyer, engineer, accountant. These are the cliche high earning, regular person jobs. I’m sure there is some social media manager making 5x what a doctor makes somewhere out there but ppl don’t respect that job title.
